she would have been justified only if she stood firm on her ground , irrespective of the man she chose to be with , stand firm , go with convictions

Anurag and Bajaj have clear clarity and focus in their life as what they want ..and whom they want to spend their life with .. Prerna clearly lacks clarity and conviction or conscience .. one day her emotions pop up for Anurag and the other day she tells the same Anurag.. to "move on" "meri shaadi ho chuki" she is confusing both men

Anurag clearly told her ..that pretending to hold Bajaj's hand she was giving him the hope for relation and not play with emotions .. .....

she is judged today, she will be judged tomorrow if she goes on "I am married to Mr.Bajaj " mode ..she will be judged as long as she doesn't take a clear stand on what she wants in life..

EDIT

when your love is so weak that it can't let you confide,
I don't see the power of love which is bonafide

I understand your POV, but Reducing this to a Woman sympathy card is also a hard sell.

I think Prerna gets so much flak because she is an impossible character to empathize with. Also, Prerna as a character has been the least developed of the main three, and mostly there is no solid reasoning behind her actions, which makes her hard to understand. She has a god complex, her need to make decisions for herself and others in the process without consulting anyone or explaining herself, or without any real need to, is hard to sympathize with.

Right from day 1, Prernas actions have been on shaky ground. She hid the truth about Sharma Nowas and wanted to marry Naveen for it. But frankly speaking, it wasn’t her call to make, since the house wasn’t even hers! It was her parents and she should have said the truth. Even with mr. Bajaj, she should told someone the truth, ideally Basus and let Mohini, the mother or someone else decide what is to be done. SHE took it upon herself to take the deal marriage. Since then, mr. Bajaj has actually helped her, and defended her, but we don’t see any development of her making Progress in her marriage. Then, now, she back tracks to romance her ex lover, even to whom she hasn’t said anything about her child.

Can you see where I am going with this, and potentially why a certain section of the forum members and audience find her an epically bewildering character?

I remember a romance novelist saying that in a romance novel, if the female lead isn’t likeable, people find it hard to finish the book. I think it’s the same here, P is just an unlikeable person, maybe because the creatives didn’t understand or didn’t want to repeat the Prerna from Season 1. But a poorly written female lead has never worked on ITV, and the ratings here speak for itself(although that’s not the ONLY cause)

With Bajaj, you know his reasons, part of his back story, so there is a correlation to what he does and why he does it.

With Anurag too, there is character development, in this track specially, he talks to Anupam, his dad, mom, Shivani, so whilst you may not agree or may you do agree with his actions, you can see a the thread of reasoning.

I think you are overlooking sacrificial nature of prerna. She knew her family had no option in saving their house, n she thought sacrificing herself will give safety to her family. Marrying bajaj is again sacrifice. There also, she had no choice but choosing to marry to save anurag.

Coming to anurag talking to his family, he has that family who stands behind him. Prerna has no one. Her own family not able to understand her. And I don't feel, any monologue required as her sacrifice is crystal clear. Her character doesnot require justification as it is selfless love. Other two character required as their action involved selfishness.

I have only issue is she has not disclosed about her pregnancy.

Your 5th paragraph does not apply here. Here individual stans wants prerna completely for their fav. If prerna was not likable, ppl wouldn't shipped #anupre or #prerish.

Between, I feel ppl are just going with hatred flow. Ppl have to stop, n think is prerna is really at fault or is she really bad woman?

Thank you for such a well thought and well articulated post hope...

Although like most of us, even I have issues with Prerana's characterization, yet I fail to understand the extreme hatred her character gets the moment she chooses to be human and let her emotional side surface.

She is being accused of having an extra marital affair and then also being characterless? What even? And why?.... Just because she failed to turn the tap of her emotions off or just because she did not channelize the course of her journey for an ultimate confluence with Bajaj? How easy it is for people to s**t shame a female lead because she has chose to show some raw emotions in some moments.

At this moment I don't want her to be with Bajaj and honestly not even with Anurag. She should be selfish for once, break all the ties with both Bajaj and Basus and channelize her life's endeavour just for her unborn child.

If Bajaj's selfishness can be condoned because he did it for his daughter, then even Prerana's selfishness can be condoned because she will be doing so for the best interest of her child. She should in the mean time finish her studies, carve a career path for herself and introspect about her life.

Hope, I think I am in love with you.

Prerna has been misunderstood from day 1 and I feel like I have been saying the same thing since the serial started. However, the level of vitriol just increased ten fold when we got a second male lead. The whole basis of Kasauti as a serial is flawed and many of the story lines are left incomplete and some episodes make no sense. However these flaws and inconsistencies come into play for all three characters (four, if you include Komolika)...but it is always Prerna who has ended being misunderstood and bashed.

" Anurag and Bajaj have clear clarity and focus in their life as what they want ..and whom they want to spend their life with .. " -

Really?

Anurag got engaged to Mishka even when he either knew or strongly suspected that he loved Prerna. He then got married to Komolika to protect his family and Prerna without discussing with his family or Prerna. He was also telling Prerna to move on so as to spare her the pain of staying wondering why she had been rejected by Anurag, at which point everyone was bashing Prerna saying does this woman have no self respect.

Bajaj married Prerna saying he does not want her or her love and wants her so that he can take revenge on the Basus. He then told her actually I want you for my daughter. He then falls in lust/love with Prerna and goes to jail leaving said daughter alone while he proves himself to Prerna. He has now decided that he wants Prerna for himself.

Prerna has a God complex!?!?!?!

Unlike Anurag who also didn't tell anyone why he was marrying Komolika not even the sister who was running the company with her father while he was a college student. He decided to "help" Prerna move on by calling her a s.... in front of a whole party, going on a honeymoon with Komolika and a number of other things. He then also decided to find out Bajaj's truth by doing things behind Prerna back that he knew she would not approve off thereby ending up in a situation that required her to rescue him by making a deal with Bajaj.

Now lets come to Bajaj, he has the biggest God complex. His entire introduction started with examples of him playing without other people. He married prerna saying he wants to take revenge knowing she loved someone else's child and then played with her emotions by bringing his daughter into it. He is trying to play puppet master with the Basus and Sharmas. As far as I know that fits the definition of someone with a God complex.

I am not in any way trying to say that the lack of communication they routinely show in this series and the inability to forward thing is justified. But I don't see how Prerna is more guilty of it than any of the other two leads. Its just that the eyes of the beholder when it comes to Bajaj and Anurag are kinder than they are to Prerna.

Looking at Prerna the character, I would still ask But what is the NEED for her to sacrifice, when there are other options in front of her?

That house isn’t hers by any stretch of imagination. So why not speak the truth and consult everyone? She also had her Kaka babu to help her out and she had a dream about spilling the beans to him, but then backed out.

With Mr. Bajaj, she KNEW fully well what she was doing and again it was so NOT NEEDED. Anurag has s full fledged family, and by her own admission if mr.bajaj was so ‘bad’ then she is beyond irresponsible to get married to him to save Anu than look out for her child.

Do you see how her actions don’t make any sense? And how she is so hard to sympathize with?

And let’s not even get into her hypocritical nature of standing by the truth when all the big events in her own life have happened because she continuously hid truth from her family and loved ones. She preaches to Anu about moving on, and yet can’t do it herself? Toh kahan se bani yeh sacrifice ki lamb? If She breaks her marriage NOW, then she will also leave a heartbroken Kuki, and not to mention potential child who could be called names and whose parentage could be questioned? Did she not think her marriage to Bajaj was for a lifetime?

At the end of the day, story telling is a creative process, and the makers can tell a story of their choice, but at least make the reasons believable and make the effort to show that their is actual conflict with proper character development, so we can all root for her. Prerna the character isn’t a bad woman or even a human, but just poorly developed one who makes it very hard to understand and like her.
