Does not always have to be a direct connect like a father or something. I am VERY doubtful about Bapji being Malhar's father. Malhar's father, IF he was alive, would be a very IMPORTANT character to the story. But this Bapji looks like a temporary villain - NOT an important/permanent character. But I do think he is connected to both Malhar and Kethki.

Malhar and Kethki are childhood friends and college friends, the CVS have emphasized this many times. So I think he is someone that is connected to both their pasts.

I also think that Bapji is somehow connected to this terrorist track - it is NO COINCIDENCE that Kethki kept Atul captive in his music academy that apparently JUST opened up out of the blue. He is connected to everything. I also have a feeling that he might be connected to the whole Kethki being a Deshmukh thing.

Let's see how the story unfolds - I also think part of the reason why they are dragging this track for so long is that they are figuring out what to do with Atharva's track. How to deal with the Mudga situation and so forth.
