OMG Jas, I was in India two weeks ago and visited Varanasi and Sarnath. we did the Ganga aarti, the mangle art at Kashi Vishwanath, the sancta mocha temple, the Kal bhairav temple and then Sarnath. my daughter interestingly went everywhere quietly in 45 degrees blazing heat without saying a word, but by the end quietly said, Mom I have had a Hindu overload like none before and I would appreciate if we don't visit temples for at least one year now!

cocktail samosas, tikkis and fries with a masala twist are quite popular. for dinner the usual palak paneer, chhole and puri and aloo are always a hit. my kids friends love pulav and gulab jamun.

Ajji had given the baby a bath and he lay in bed staring at the ceiling, his cheeks more full now

He loved to be propped up on the sofa like a big guy shaking his arms and legs

He HATED wearing clothes and loved being naked

Elicited a bunch of jokes from Avyaan in the process

His screams were loudest when the onesie was pulled over

Ajji hummed cooed and panted intermittently as he moaned hungrily

Samidha went into the bedroom and grinned, his soft body was sparkling after the oil massage

“He is such a stinker” Samidha gushed bending over smelling his soft cheeks

He moaned louder, inhaling her scent, trying to grab her hair

“Nope…grab Daddy’s he has lots” she whispered

They lay there the baby on top of her their skin touching

“he is SO CUTE ajji, I thought my baby will be blah”

“haha every Mom thinks her baby will be normal and not like TV babies”

“Hes so cute and such a monster, staying up all nite and Avyaan loves his sleep”

“I know I can tell, he is grouchy and groggy but such a good sport in changing the diaper”

The women laughed until they lost their breath

“I know,but now that he is born I worry even if he is 30 minutes late from work”

“Umm..yeah…” Samidha sat up sadly “I cannot be dependent on him for ever”

“We are not even married”

“Yes” she nodded, less convincingly this time

“Not sure when but I will have to move out” Samidha declared

“Are u going to wait for him to ask you?”

“Umm..no, we joked about it a long time ago, that who ever finds a partner first will move out”

“the baby?” Ajji was not happy

“We will still raise him together” Samidha joked

“Joking only right about moving out”

“Umm…”Samidha dragged her feet

“We are in a committed relationship Ajji but its not a legal one”

Ajji grabbed the baby as he began to cry to quickly clothe him so he could be fed

When she sat on the bed feeding him Ajji asked her

“Do u think he will look for someone to? Umm… be with”

“He acts like he really likes me” Samidha blushed

“Oh that’s good, he doesn’t hate u then” Ajji giggled

“AJJIII”

“I mean,u know…” Ajji winked

The baby nursed snoozed and nursed

“I just LOVE LOVE LOVE him Ajji” Samidha stroked the baby’s head

“Good”Ajji nodded meaningfully as if she was talking about Avyaan

Ajji was in the shower when Avyaan returned

Toast quickly made his way to her, when he didn’t see the baby

“Oh good u got rid of him then? I am telling this is SO MUCH better… JUST THE 3 of us”Toast waited for a snuggle

“Do u want to get married?” Avi’s first question to her after peeking at the baby in the crib

We went on the boat ride on Ganges at sunrise. Then took the alleyways bear the crematorium, dodging bricks throwing monkeys, stray dogs, lazy cows blocking the alleys to go to the Kashi temple. Crowd was quadruple of regular number because of Shravan month. We went around and got shoved and couldn’t see the deity. So my mom, my SIL and I went around a second time. Kids were done by then.

Then we went to Hanuman temple with the family. Kala Bhairav temple - my mom, my husband and I ventured out to conquer the crowd. Tipped a priests son for a short cut into temple, still got pushed/shoved and my husband gave up. My mom and I got literally carried away to mandir and I was done at that point.

Then bribed the kids with some pancakes and french toast and took them to sarnath. Evening they all bailed out for the Aarti. My husband, mom and I got decent seats to watch the aathi

It’s about time!. Sometimes it takes an outsider’s harassment and their set of question papers to knock one out of their bubble to face the trial. This paper that he got served in the form of Manish being the first drawing the pillayar Suzhi on it is the harsh reality of Avi and Sam’s circumstances and life situation. Not the most appropriate way but avi popping the question after a walk with Manish kinda conveys he’s not immune. Maybe he’s thinking ok it’s just not me but my partner and our baby holding this questionnaire.It would be interesting to see how Sam reacts to this! She would like to be certain that Avi and her are on the same page on the way forward.

Hope they discuss this in real and talk their fears out. They have spent about 9 months together so they should be able to guage each others intention and honesty in a better manner
