I had a host of issues with internet at home the last week or so, they dug something up so even they couldnt tell after a point WHY it wasnt working.

Living without internet is like being with out electricity.

Another week passed by uneventfully. Not uneventfully but really with lots of baby whining crying and screaming and lots of off key singing, lights on all night,mother asleep father walking around holding the tiny human

Samidha filled his bowl with cheerios one morning

She poured her own coffee into Toast’s water bowl

He began drinking and gagged when it was too hot

He actually was able to smell the little human one day when no one was around fora second

Wiping down the baby with a wet wipe

He held the baby in his arms and showed him

“That’s who will be your first best friend Avi took the baby’s fist and pointed to Toast

“U better be nice to me, if u are wanting to ask a girl out I AM going to be your ally dude”

Toast barked

“Did u hear that? He chases birds, he chases butterflies, he runs” Avi whispered breathlessly, kissing the fat cheeks

“Hey, my resume’ is longer than THAT surely… I protect you and your woman, I bring gam gam her shoes so she can go back, I bark at the guard when I see him peeing where he shudnt. I bark at the guy upstairs when I find him stealing a glance at Samidha”

“Do u want to feel his fur?”

Avi bend down and gently felt the fur with baby’s fist

“Baby Vee”he coached Toast

“Whats his name again?” Toast looked confused

“Vatsar Vasudev Singh”

“ive heard Singh before… aren’t u a Singh?” Toast looked at Avi

“I know Vatsar is a very serious sounding name I agree” Avi giggled at the dog

“I don’t like anything about this guy… the green poop is like a deal breaker for me dood”

“He loves u too” Avi insisted

“Shore…why not” Toast walked out haughtily

There was a knock on the door

“Hey?” an upstairs neighbor

“Umm..no.. I am OK”

“U know what? Its really cold, December Delhi is not fun, come in I have to shut the door” Avi was abrupt

Samidha peeked from the kitchen

Ajji and her were making chicken curry and biryani for lunch, friends were coming over

“Usual Sunday, no sleep all night, and then have friends over for watch party” Avi chuckled rocking the baby like a pro

“U guys had a pooja didnt you?” Manish fidgeted

“Oh yeah naming, Vatsar” Avi waved baby fist again

“Hey…um.. hi” Manish dodged eye contact

“Whats up man?”

“Are u guys together?”

“Umm..yeah?” Avi was confused

“Umm..actually my wife heard u guys weren’t married?” he came out with it

“And?”

“My wife heard from the guard, so umm.. I thought it was fake news” he laughed nervously "This is a family colony u know, I bet he must be a liar, I mean... how can he be right... u have a baby also" "Such unsavory activities wont happen in this building I told her" Manish smiled creepily

“Whoaa what did u say?” Avi was pissed "the guard said that?"

“Oh no…no not the guard, I think a driver” the guy jumped back

“The baby stirred and moaned

“sorry hang on”

Samidha came out wiping her hands

Toast followed her

She smelled like chicken

“Ajeee…”Samidha called out

Aji came out and grabbed the baby

“I am going to take a shower, should I send chai?”

“No, we just want o take a walk” Avi said coldly nudging Manish out

Toast escaped out hoping for a park run……….

Thanks Jas for your wishes. Yes it’s a new phase our daughter’s are getting into. Your suggestion is more like what I have in mind. I was also thinking of kuzhi paniyaram and Dhokhla. Gajjar Halwa In a ramekin like a carrot pudding or something is also a thought. Hv to get it final in a wk’s time. Thank you to all you lovely people for pitching in with your suggestions .

Nisha the do is a week ltr. I’m so sorry your network is giving frequent troubles . This must be a pain in the a**. Soon 5G is going to be up where there would be no cables and so no underground digging up. At least that’s what the noise is. Let’s see what that does for us.

Our trip to India last December was hectic . Chennai was like the city was orphaned or something. No one to take care....absolutely the worst of metros in governance. Delhi almost killed me with pollution. No kidding Had to change plans and stayed indoors medicating my breathing troubles, bronchitis during that leg of our trip.

Our visit to Mumbai fared comparatively better to my previous trip in 2017. I thought the Corp has done something to clean up as it’s building a metro right outside the airport. They are also thinking of a high speed corridor connecting Delhi and Mumbai. And Bengaluru I feel is manageable minus the traffic though. But IMO Coimbatore, and Kerala were by far the better cities. The best of course was kochi. They are conscious about keeping it clean .

I miss all the chatter here ladies. Today feels good.

Yep felt so irritating to read but people like Manish and his wife shooting through his shoulder and others all kind of make for a society like ours isn’t it.?... we as a society are full of hypocrisy in assuming that we are flag bearers of our culture . People can have no justification to their varying mindsets , reactions and their hypocrisy at different points very visible and self revealing today thanks to their tell all social media. The same set of guys like Manish moral policing Neighbour’s personal life could be liking a celebrity’s living in pic or their adopted baby post .

Live in i India is still very tough... U need to be strong to cope with shit
