First of all I am appalled by the utter lack of sympathy for Prerna from practically everyone outside of here and it makes me think deeply about our pre conceived notions of how everyone need to act in situations.
Human beings come in not only different shapes, sizes and colors but also in their true selves, no two humans are alike. We wanted Prerna to ask help from her parents- Is it our basic instinct to do so especially when we are young yes, but do we always do so ? I doubt it. Yes, this is a huge risk she was taking marriage with an unknown person but when faced with adversities isn’t our first instinct to tackle the problem and then face the consequences? Why can’t this be taken like that? I will tell you why I think not because she is a girl/woman and we are tuned to think that woman need validation from their parents, husbands and then maybe our sons.
Anurag took decision without asking his parents granted Moloy was paralyzed but he was close to his mother did he ask her? He was close to Anupam did he ask him? he was close to Nivi did he ask her before marrying Komo? Then how is this different is it because Prerna is a woman...Sorry I keep harping back to Komo in every instance but in my opinion what is right for the goose is goose for the gander.
I have said repeatedly that the writers have a fixed view of how Anurag, Bajaj and Komo should be and they have characterized them as such, Anurag the good guy who never gets the girl! Bajaj the big bad guy who has a heart of gold!( which we are yet to see) and Komo the Antagonist in the story who lusted after Anu that leaves Prerna with absolute no clear cut characterization she is Anurag’s lover, Bajaj’s now wife , Veena’s daughter and the list goes on but who is Prerna? Why haven’t they explored her in this story? Because they want to shape her as they go and how the story sells.
Misery seems to sell in ITV,especially misery of a woman and in this case, who is the main woman character no guesses here.
In all this all I see is a caged bird who is singing but singing someone else’s tune and maybe that is why some of us feel a disconnect with her but for me she feels real.
Closing with a quote from my all-time favorite author
There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside you.” Maya Angelou I know why the caged birds sing

I have seen a lot of analogy in this show so far to Chess. Two kings fighting each other for a queen or so they say!
However, in this game isn’t Prerna the Pawn disguised as a Queen?.
Prerna first words to Bajaj was even a woodcutters sickle is enough to fell a mighty tree. Bajaj words to Ronit about Prerna is she is his Queen and he the king and His words to Anurag, one who has the Queen wins but isn't he using her as a Pawn to get back at the Basus's
In my opinion in this Tug of war between Anurag and Bajaj, Prerna is no Queen but a mere pawn disguised as a Queen. In a chess game just like in Life when we underestimate the Pawns great kingdoms can be felled.
In our Mythologies Draupadi was used as a Pawn in the game between the Pandava and Kauravas but that Pawn turned the war around destroyed the enemies but also created bloodshed everywhere pitting brother against brother that in the end all was just destruction.
Here the Game is set but is the greatest Pawn being ignored? I know the writers of this show lack creativity and are sloppy but if they wanted to create a masterpiece, which I doubt they can, they can use Prerna the greatest Pawn to fell the Mighty.
Closing with a quote from Sandeep Sharma’s ‘let the games begin’. (It is an interesting book)
“Sometimes a Pawn is enough to change the whole game and those who ignore the importance of it, are liable to lose their Queen.”
Ah well we all know that this is NOT going to happen and so the least the writers can show is Prerna’s personal growth but maybe that is too much to ask too.
With that said, I am going to take a break from this forum, show and writing a bit for my sanity.
Until I see you guys again cheers! Thanks for giving me this AT to write out my thoughts
Today's church scene was soooo good ....
Eri was brilliant in that scene...
Because of all the negativity around her gpod performance is not getting appreciation..... sad .
Is there any reason why Eri has been calling herself as Prerna Sharma lately? And not Prerna Bajaj
