They don't even show her repenting or acknowledging properly that she was selfish and wanted to protect herself first. Recall that she asked Palak to leave only when she sensed that Geeta could come back and all misunderstandings regarding her could be resolved. It was her own selfish sense of insecurity about her own place in the family that led her to those terrible actions, not her love for Rithwik

I totally agree . Mamta always wanted the family to be in her hands . Her actions doesn't really prove that she loves Ritwik .she wants to see the family as it is and Geetha should not be back which can complicate her position in the family . If Ritwik gets to know that his mother is a good person ,Ritwik first priority always would be Geetha and then palak .her actions conclude that she was selfish but the show will white wash her deeds to be good .they will never show Mamta's complexities . Edited by Nickzy - 5 years ago
