I don't know why people on IF can't do reasoning without removing their biased glasses.
Padmaavat would've crossed Dangal and entered the 400 Crore club if given a full-fledged release, but all the extra money would've came because of Karni Sena. The ban in 3 states dissolved the benefits of the hype given to the film. Why people forget that the movie was banned because of the controversy, which gave the film a huge publicity. Debating on the role of Karni Sena in the box office collections of Padmaavat is like going on a loop.
Padmaavat getting a full-fledged release without any controversy would've earned the same around 282 crores, that it earned with controversy and ban.
And yes, it's 282 crores. Bollywood is Hindi film industry, so only Hindi version collections will be taken into account.
Stop using Karni Sena as an excuse for the success or the underperformance for the film.
