Kudos to a well written and rational post! You're absolutely right. I may get reported for this reply, but I am going to go ahead with it.

I prefer the term humanist, rather than feminist, because it captures the notion that all human beings, regardless of race, ag, colour, gender and sexual orientation, are equal. The very fact that someone uses being gay and being old in an angry tone to convey their anger towards individuals show that these terms have a negative connotation attached to them, which shouldn't be the case. Honestly I hate the way the term aurat ki izzat is thrown around in the house. Because Arshi doesn't deserve respect because she is a woman. She deserves respect because she is a human being. And this notion of respect is equally applicable to everyone.

Honestly, to give a specific example, I was very uncomfortable about the way Arshi spread butter on Hiten's body. I know Hiten didn't protest. But in my opinion, if a girl like Lucinda had been in Hiten's position, and Akash had done something like it, there would have been an uproar about the issue, even if Lucinda had consented. So why is it allowed for Arshi, and not for Akash? Is it because we are naturally mor attuned to issues faced by women?

Everyone in the house has thrown vile insults against one another. Be it Hina, Arshi or Shilpa. I haven't seen Vikas do it, but someone please enlighten me if I am wrong. Priyank has said a lot of vile things to Arshi. But Arshi has said a lot of things to Priyank as well. This is why I won't support one over the other, because they are both wrong.

And one more thing, in the blind hatred/like for one contestant, we should not be blind to her/his/others' faults. Even though I am a Hina fan, I think her accusation on Vikas was not in good taste. Even as her fan, it is important to recognize her flaws and decide whether they are things we can accept. Because certain flaws are acceptable, and some are not. And it's important to do so, because standing up for what is right should always rise above our personal dislikes and likes towards individuals in an inconsequential game.

Just my two cents, I hope I haven't offended anyone.

Good post!

This season is one of the filthiest ever. And this is why I don't jump on the bandwagon of aurat ki izzat bajao andolan.
Hina gets what she throws at others.

But Arshi, Shilpa and Sapna get away with a lot worse. They basically do everything they shame a man for. Stalking, bullying, insulting, sexually harassing to name a few.

Just because Shilpa has huge fanbase and Arshi is apparently "entertaining" people don't mind.

Just because the other side wronged him, he should also stoop to the same level as them, in fact lower? He could have carried himself with dignity but he kept on falling and falling, and right now he is in a dungeon from where it is not easy for him to get out. The difference between Arshi and him is, she improved her game, and tried to improve her language, and also forgave, even after so many personal comments were passed for her, she forgave when he tried to apologize, while Priyank, he was swallowed by his anger, and his game got dirtier everytime he tried to play.

I dont recall Shilpa or Arshi being reprimanded for their remarks... When Priyank brought it in front of Salman, Salman told him that he is responsible for these things... He could have carried himself with dignity but there's a limit to everything... He was mocked for being friends with Vikas.. There are no other reason for Shilpa or Arshi targeting him in first week...

He could have reacted in a better way... But what about people who are saying these things to him? Those are one liners or funny for a certain group but I don't think it's funny when you are at the receiving end... Like many people praised Bandagi for calling him Pyada of Sapna... What about him? He's supposed to take it without uttering a word?

Arshi and shilpa have said and done many wrong things , but they have risen above their mistakes. If they have negatives, their positives have now started overpowering their negatives.
Priyank , on the other hand is another story. As soon as he re entered , he has totally lost the plot.He went out , saw the public reactions , and assumed that the reactions will remain constant throughout. And in doing that , he has totally ruined his game , his image. He doesnt have the quality to forgive or forget , to move on.He only has venom , and is spitting the same.
Because of the same , Arshi has gained an upper hand on him .
like they say , is ghar me hero se zero banne me zyada time ni banta. Sadly , Priyank is totally going towards the zero mode , and Arshi towards the hero mode.Surprising , but true.

How have they risen above their mistakes when it was 2 days ago when Arshi commented on Priyank's sexuality? Arshi and Shilpa commented on Hina's color? Shilpa commented on Hina's face? On Hina wearing a bikini? On Hiten's face? Or Arshi's constant remarks on Hina "Budhapa Budhapa"?...Thhe fact that Shilpa and Arshi were dancing and teasing Hina for feeling bad when Arshi called Hina "Zubair ki rakhail", I have seen people saying "Hahaha Shilpa is so fun loving" but what about Hina, who sees that someone is so happy when she is being s**t shamed?

They have not risen above.. The fact is that people are taking their offensive remarks as jokes... But Hina or people who live with them can't do the same because they have to go through constant insult by someone... None is good... Everyone is making stupid remarks except Hiten...

I agree in principle that every person needs to be respected.

Coming to the topic this is a volatile house with volatile situations, here people cannot escape the situation nor can they divert their mind as everyone has to stay together and has no means to divert their minds. Add to that even small of their actions are in public scrutiny. They can lie to themselves but they cannot lie to camera. I understand that we are shown a very selective scene of the whole day's activities but then we all make our choices and preference based on that.

What one needs to understand is that the statements which angered Priyank to no end this week was never made. Neither then nor before while discussing. Even when Arshi did not complete the sentence he was all over shouting gay gay gay, which was never the case. That was clarified to him afterwards as well but he was not listening. Not only that his frustration oozed out as soon as he realized that none of his "gang" members were in the captain's list. The thing is when you make remarks unprovoked reactions would come in same as Shilpa and Arshi were blasted when they made homophobic remarks the first week, though it was mainly targeted towards Vikas and Priyank got into cross-fire. The point is his frustration suddenly reached the crescendo this week not because of what was happening for weeks because that was supposedly sorted by hugging out with Arshi last week. It was because he is feeling threatened of elimination because none of his saviors were in captain's list.

I won't include Shilpa here because honestly that woman could get away with murder in that house. She's never been even lightly reprimanded, let alone blasted for all the vile crap she's spouted therein. On the contrary, we see Sallu lawyering for her on the weekends.

I agree that Arshi is no saint - she's never been, and in the first week she was very dislikable. But she was almost unilaterally blasted that first WKW, and she has improved. She's also both apologized and forgiven when others have apologized. That is not to say she's an angel now - but her graph has most definitely improved IMO.

Priyank was unnecessarily targeted with homophobic slurs and allegations in the first week, I don't deny that. But he also retaliated with the whole running after Arshi with the bucket thing. When he returned - he had the opportunity to start afresh. But he chose to sneakily attack and continue with his 'badla' track. After the blasting on the weekend he apologized to Arshi but still continued the hate track. I'm not saying Arshi doesn't mock him even now - she does, but I honestly think it's because of what he dishes her and not because she held anything against him after the apology. Even this week - she didn't call him gay - he flipped before she'd even completed her sentence. Personally, I feel Priyank ruined his own game by focusing on this hate track of his.

I do agree with you re the 'aurat ki izzat' point generally - the balance is definitely skewed as regards these contestants. The women get away with doing a lot of, and more than what the men get blasted for.

Loving the rational balance on this thread. A refreshing departure from what is generally going on.

As I have probably said in an earlier post as well, this season is the pits. Every contestant has stooped to the lowest level possible for footage or aligning with a group.

Shilpa Shinde's crass remarks on Vikas from Week 1, her initial aversion for Arshi, her Lucinda comments , there is so much and yet she has achieved some sort of mata status .

Hina Khan has one fatal flaw, and her inability to control her word vomit will ensure she never rises above the unlikable person she is being portrayed , even if she is good in tasks and all.

Arshi is not entertaining in the least . She constantly threatens physical violence on Hina and any other housemate and her joote se maaroongi, appi nonsense is cringe worthy.

Vikas is a snake, Sapna is foul mouthed , Bandagi and Puneesh are the heights of thali ka baingan , Acash is foul mouthed too.

Priyank is obviously suicidal.

Apart from Hiten and Luv to an extent , none of these people show the basic respect for another human being.

The women get away with it easier , but they are not lesser culprits by any yardstick.

On that note, hope the prize money remains zero. These idiots don't deserve it.

I've tried to dislike Hina's team and like Shilpa and Arshi but i can't bring myself to. I do know that Hina's team has its faults but the other team is equally responsible. If Shilpa and Arshi say Akash isn't disrespectful to them but Hina and Ben said Akash is disrespectful to them, The SAME applies to Priyank, where hes disrespectful to Shilpa and Arshi but not to Hina and Sapna...So it works BOTH WAYS.
