Ancestry tests for bollywood stars?

These days a lot of Indians/South Asians are getting tested for their ancestry by looking at their genetics. So far the studies have shown that Indians/South Asians are a mix/hybrid of a lot of different people that came to India through out history. Be it Africans, Middle Easterners, Central Asians, Europeans, East Asians etc.. Indians are a mix of them all. Looking at this I would defiantly love to get some bollywood stars tested for their genes. The Kapoor family would be my first choice, I am almost guessing they will have a larger amount of foreign genes by just looking at them, but I could be wrong. This is why it will be fun to test all the actors/actresses

Kapoors have Pathan genes, no? Quite obvious there.

No , they are Punjabi Khatris by origin who are different from Pathans(i.e. admixed Pashtun Muslims)..Before partition , Punjabi Khatris were scattered in as far as Hindko/NWFP region of Pakistan with highest concentration in West Punjab..

The reason why some of them hailing from Peshawar(Hindko region) call themselves Pathans is the same some of them hailing from Jammu/Himachal call themselves Dogras.. Also , 'Pathan' designation commands respect ..

The look Kapoors (barring Raj Kapoor) carry can be comfortably come across proper Punjabi Khatris in my observation (not talking about Kapoor sisters whose maternal grandmother was a white Brit)..Raj Kapoor kinda look is relatively less than others..

I always feel like Ash would've some Greek genes. Didn't the Greeks settle around that coastal area too or am I getting my history mixed? It isn't because she's got light eyes & fair skin, but her features remind me a lot of a Greek.. Idk why

I doubt she has greek genes, because greeks only settled in the Punjab region in south asia, they didn't go east of punjab. She is Brahmin right? so her ancestors probably came from Kashmir region at some point in history, so she may actually have elevated level of indo aryan/european genes. some brahmins have shown up to 10-15% of the northern european genetic component in them, which came through indo aryan migration to south asia

yeah they are basically punjabis from Peshawar. However some punjabis in the extreme north west did mix with pathans, they are called hindkos. so even though kapoors are punjabi culturally, their genetics still might be closer to pathans, then to lets say mainland punjabis. Thats why they need to be tested. someone tell Rishi kapoor on his twitter please!!

May be that rare,discreet elopement here & there with Muslims but that's it..You know it is a big taboo , even in this ipod age..And they used to speak Hindko , just like the ones in Pothwar speak Potohari or in Jammu speak Dogri..Hindko is only a linguistic identity of the inhabitants of that area ; it doesn't denote intermixing among inhabitants defying the boundaries of religion , tribe or caste..

Well I personally know many Khatris with highly Caucasian looks like Kapoors & none of their families came from Peshawar or Khyber Pakhtunkhwa I assure lest intermixed with Pathans alone ; mostly in & around Pothwar..I could have mentioned some studies upon Khatris origin but that would be unnecessary for this place..
