The madness of love makes the lover walk on a bed of nails. Love becomes a trial, a test, to cross the ultimate boundaries of pain. A moment when the lover fails to differentiate between pain and pleasure! Such is love..
Her beauty and virtue are his pride and joy, its only right for Chandni to flaunt it. No wonder it's no easy task to touch her.. to marry her and make her his for times to come, muses Advay. He carries her in his arms, looks down at her with respectful resignation. She looks up into his eyes with a certain winning streak.His insult of her family by acting as PP's replacement will not go unpunished. The rose petals strew in his way will be mixed with sharp nails, as Chandni instructs Shikha and Meghna. Gaining access to her is no walk on a path of roses.. but rather a smarting ordeal. He assures her, he is in the habit of crossing rough uneven paths. She still reminds him, pain is the price he'll pay to touch her. His bare foot soles feel the first bite of the sharp nails in his soft flesh. His jaw clenches, but his strong body carrying her flinches in pain. But he turns his head and whispers hoarsely..this pain you give is a priceless keep sake from him. Advay carries his burden of love, while she holds out the diva of her palm. Iron spiked nails pierce his feet.. his spirit groans and goads him on.. despite my sufferings, a bit of life still remains within me.. to live this moment..this instance, which overwhelms my whole being into questioning myself.. shall I live a little more? or in this second of complete bliss, die holding on to this instance till eternity? I have to surmount the sweet pain she gives me. I have to bear pain to keep a glow the light of purity she holds on her palm. Bear the sting ! throbbing and piercing of the nails, to ensure that the sacred light burns!, shall I then, die carrying her in my arms? or live a little more?
The nails are the symbol of all the trials, tribulations, and traumas Advay suffers since sixteen long years. Every foot step he takes on this painful nail ridden path means one step closer to his ultimate goal to create upheaval in the lives of his foes. He does help Chandni to complete the task. She is still unappreciative that without his assistance her oath of put the burning diva on Lord Ganesh's altar, would have been unlikely. But she soon realizes the enormity of his excruciating pain in a trail of his bloody foot prints! He bled! But then she still not knows fully that anguish and pain are not strangers to Advay .. once the ritual is complete Indrani reminds Chandni , that the flame of the diva needs to be lit all night, ensure it snuffs out not! With the idol of Lord Ganesh as their witness they both face each other, gravely. She tells him that which he already knows, that his feet are wounded! Dryly he states, coming closer to her entails getting hurt! In tremendous pain , he turns and sorely limps away.. Chandni would be cold blooded not to sense some discomfiture at seeing his condition..
As viewers we too like Advay get an unexpected surprise when his nani turns up! We get to see Advay one more break down emotionally. Yesterday he broke down cut up by Chandni's cruel comments of not knowing what it feels like to be a family life. Just as well Nani turns up he needs to be contained. The fact that he hugs and sobs like a little boy, goes to show the sea of troubles that he holds within his heart, wants to share with her..he feels drawn to her and it doesn't take much for Nani to state her purpose of this unannounced visit. She suggests he return with her to London. But not even her affection for him dissuades Advay from his set out agenda. Nani, an elderly figure is wise and has been brought in the role of councillor for Advay . She shows grave concern for his preoccupation with pursuing revenge. Her conversation with him is gentle persuasion in nature, that focus on the moralistic issues plus concerns about his mental well being. Nani actually, confesses her insecurity of losing him, and in doing so she also wants him perhaps, to consider forgiveness, let bygones be bygones.. So he can actually save his soul from sinning. Its like reasoning with him that his parents won't return. But for Advay ,it's more an issue of avenging his parents death, by justly punishing his foes!Robbing them from their wealth, power ,name and respectability. For that purpose, he has earmarked Chandni as she is the one who he will use to disgrace the whole Vashist family, Till then, he will not immerse their ashes. Not quite sure how much of Nani's advice Advay takes on board? But the scene affords him to lay bare the inner most recesses of his heart with an elderly maternal figure. How he weeps in Nani's arms when he cries out, that his revenge will make him look in his parents eyes as their honourable son! There are references to fire, hell, symbols, representing anger and his all consuming revenge! references to virtue, if he perhaps looks into forgiveness by accompanying Nani and walking away.
Today for some reason.. Chandni too like Advay is dispirited. She feels the need to draw strength from the energizing stone that Dev asked her to use in times of failing emotional strength. Mamaji comes into her room and becomes the shoulder she cries on! Chandni weeps for Dev.. we find out the degree of her bonding, affection, for Dev since childhood to this day! In the past ,she reveals to mama ji when she told him to leave, never has she imagined she would never again set eyes on him. she sobs! To this day she misses him! she told everyone that she would marry him! she would never consider anyone else! In fact she holds a grudge against him for leaving ,never to return in her life!! We find out that she was desperate to keep in touch with him! wanted to trace him, but it was Dev who never responded! The scene is full of dramatic irony! As she keeps refusing to marry Advay! She fails to see that Dev has returned to her! her squabbles with Advay , are a carry forward of what went on between Dev and her! what irony her heart is blind to seeing Dev in Advay...
The flame of her diva begins to flicker! and she hastens to steady it! Advay too gives a steady hand! but she misinterprets his intent! Thought he would be pleased to see the light snuffed! He replies bitterly, she knows him not! She offers him the turmeric healing paste as a truce between them. Turmeric that cleanses and purifies.. but he too gives her a snide remark, why..he too assumes that she would be happy at his wounds! she retorts by offering him the paste! Now he knows her not! He hurts her by accusing of being a liar! Chandni, attempts to cleanse hard feelings amongst themselves. She is unsure how he can call her a liar ? he retorts, normally people lie to others! But your family lies to themselves. Once more Chandni defends herself, and her family before , tells him calmly ,he's on their case for nothing! Requests him to keep clear of her and her family.. we are simple folks! He taunts, you don't say.. she pleads, if he doesn't keep off her, it'll tarnish her family name, besides her parents wouldn't dream of harming any one! All her words to him are lies!
Chandni is desperate to reach a settlement with him. but Advay wants his revenge so he won't let her sob story to waver him from his purpose. He threatens her, she can try to save her family by marrying PP! But he will never let her! he'll smash her famliy's pride and honour! she'd better believe it! he growls, as what he say's he does! Advay threatens her! roughly hurls the bowl of haldi paste out of her hand on to the floor! and storms away in rage! Not realizing that his pierced ,poked soles actually walk upon the haldi prepared by the hands of his would be bride Chandni! Seems the deities will it, that both Advay and Chandni are symbolically cleansed of all blemishes! Only truly, both are still plagued by their impurities of rage, Chandni tries.. but Advay is occupied elsewhere..
This one is is for pure entertainment.. a fond celebration of Chandni the bride to be. for PP s pleasure the two families watch a photo montage of Chandni's childhood pictures.. fond memories, loved by the audience! Then a slide of Shakun and ranjit in a romantic pose! Spectators, from both families are shocked!! PP's mother in particular is horrified at the immorality of this so called sanctimonious Mahant s family! Hamlet5312.8.17
Fantastic episode, right from the start to finish. The arrival of Nani is a sensible inclusion.. some one needs to spell out the ills of seeking vengeance, especially when the scriptures suggest leave it to the deities or providence. Barun and Shivani in role of Advay and Chandni put up moving performances in emoting their inner pain. Getting "nailed made me cringe and think about Tetanus jabs. The infection is far from glamorous and exciting to watch.. hope Murli in passing says to Advay .. bhaji ji aacha hai ap ko tetanus ka teeka laga hoya tha! ..precap about time the dirty deed was exposed.. feel sorry for kajal..would be interested to see how Shakun and ranjit are reprimanded. Well looks like the coast is clear for our love birds! Thanks to ASR's innovative brain.. have to say.. he sure does what he says he'll do!
