Hello everybody!
Today's post is all about Mr.Dev Dixit. You ask why? I'll tell you!
When Ishwari was making plans to raise another Dev Dixit in the form of Suhana Bose, I was thinking about Dev's umpteenth attempt to make his mother happy (and failing miserable, as always). Now let's focus on the fact that he just found out about his daughter, he just met her, he just got to hold his bundle of joy, he just discovered about her existence but instead of thinking about his loss, he was again compelled/made to think about his mother's pain. Why?
I tried really hard but I failed to understand this dedication/ blind worship/faith that Dev has for his mother. Though I have no sympathies left for him when he comes in the Sonakshi-Soha picture but I do feel bad for him when I see him in the same frame as Ishwari.

Let me elaborate a few things:

1. When Dev shared his feeling about Sonakshi with Ishwari, he nurtured a hope of acceptance from Ishwari. He had followed her commands since he was 8 and continued to do so till he was 28, finally he took a decision and shared it with Ishwari. Ishwari was in pain. He didn't understand. Ishwari made him understand (pills) and he understood that his mother was in pain so he broke up with Sonakshi. That was the first instance when he intentionally/unintentionally decided to take away his mother's pain first. What about your pain, Dev?

2. When he told Ishwari about the honeymoon. The same sequence of events happened and he thought of Ishwari's pain, consoled her. What about your pain, Dev? Did Ishwari even ask you if you were okay? No.

3. When he revealed about Sona's infertility. Same thing on loop. He consoled Ishwari, begged in front of her, told her he'd do anything. He thought of Ishwari's pain. What about your pain, Dev? Was it not okay for a man to feel the pain of knowing that he might not be a father, ever? Was it too much for Ishwari to be by her "beloved" son's side when he must have so low? Why was Ishwari made to be the victim of somrthing that was remotely associated with her? Is she the only one with emotions? I totally ignoring Sona's emotions here because that's what happens in Dixit house but Dev is their own blood. Then why?

4. Let's talk about today. Dev gets Suhana to meet Ishwari just to fulfill his mother's wish. He swallowed the pain of not being there for his daughter from the past 6 years and put up a happy face. Ishwari loses shit at the mention of Mr.Dixit. She is consoled by Dev, Mamaji and all. Then she loses her mind at the dinner table and is in deep pain because her dreams were not fully accomplished. But it doesn't end here, Dev, again, comes to her rescue to take care of her pain. Bravo! Did she even look at him? At her son? Did she see that he was a father who had no idea that he had a daughter of his own, can she feel his pain? No. Can she see his pain? No. Can she see how hard it was to deal with that kind of stress? To be thinking about being a good father to you child all the time? No. She sees nothing beyond herself and Dev sees nothing beyond her, that's why Sonakshi left them.

My question remains the same. What about your pain, Dev? When will you put yourself on the top of your list. If you can't think about yourself, then I was expecting too much when I thought you'd take a stand for Sonakshi.

P.S.- I have no sympathy for Dev or his mother so please refrain from making this post anti Sonakshi. I do not and will not root for Dev and Sonakshi reunion. Just making it clear.

Views entertained, bashing is not.

Thank you.

Even I felt really sad for Dev today. He is way too giving to Ishwari... And yes even I felt we expected too much from him. If he can't take a stand for himself, how can he take a stand for Sona.
I fail to understand the blind bhakti for maa. Trying to appease her always. She was sulking and scheming already.

This is a brilliant post Doctor 👏👏
Though I am not in Dev's favour and I will never be yet today's episode makes me wonder that Dev is really enslaved to Ishwari.
He can free himself from this bondage but he doesn't wish to.And due to his excessive devotion for Ishwari,Sona too had to bear the brunt.Ishwari is the centre of his universe.

Ishwari and Dev's relationship was never normal.I guess all of us have disagreements with our parents from time to time. But we do sort them out like normal people.

Here Ishwari's wish is Dev's command. He can't lift a finger without her wish.He doesn't have the guts to tell her that she is wrong. And he is also willing to suffer for his entire life in order to make Ishwari happy. For whom does a person do all these things?? Either it's someone whom he loves to death or it is fanatic obsession.

This is the reason eshwari been hated to the core. She was never good mother forget about being mil. It was her duty to show and teach her children to be happy. But she always end up in finding happiness for herself. This woman can never be satisfied in her life. Such people find way to be unhappy and make others also unhappy.

I have the same view of yours
When I try to think only about Dev no-one else I feel bad for him
Just the day he got bitten up I compared his situation with that
The way he was laying on the side and no-one can see him and he was in pain all alone and then come sona who was only concerned and clearly knew that he was in pain and could feel it she was listening on phone everything but she also can't do anything
And rest ishwari and everyone were unaware of his pain everyone was having the own motive like ishwari was more concerned that Dev would not go to sona again or anything
And I feel really bad for people who get mother like her and all dil who get husband like Dev or mil like ishwari
There is a limit which they both always crosses
They don't know to love anyone or be satisfied with what they get but they will always demand for more if they will get that

Thank you for the comment.
You know when we were shown the promos, we were promised a "different" take on Mother-son relationship but we were served a "toxic" take on the relationship.
The son is so devoted or obsessed that he fails to see the damage his mom has been doing since forever. She damaged Neha beyond repair. She chose Ayaan for Riya, that girl must be heartbroken. She damaged Dev, Sonakshi and Soha's future. Dev needs to stop her but he has no time because he's busy pleasing her 😕

Dev's suffering is the most.
Whenever he calls himself a nikkama husband it hurts bcoz he never wanted to be one.

His only fault is he thinks about his mother's pain first and sacrifices everything for it.

Dev and Ishwari's relationship is like the story of mother and son, where Dev is mother and Ishwari is the son. Mother is blind in son's love and is feeding his wrong ego just to keep him happy, accepting all his misdeeds not to hurt him. But not realising this is harming both son and mother.
This reminds me of a story heard as a child, where son becums a theif and when caught by police and presented in front of judge, he says i want my mother to come near me in witness box. When his mother cums near him, he bites hard on his mother's ear that it starts bleeding. Judge shouts at him " have u gone mad, what are u doin". Son replies " punishing her for not pulling my ear hard when i did my first theft, if she would have done that, i wouldnt have been standing here. I know seeing me standing here is hurting her more than me."

Same is true for Dev, if Dev would have opposed Ishwari at the very first time, Ishwari would have been hurt for sometime but in present everyone would have been not Dev but Ishwari also.

By feeding her ego and keeping her pain first, Dev has made mess out of his life and Ishwari is still not happy bcoz she has forgotten the meaning of happiness. For her happiness is things happening her way, which not possible for neone on this earth.

Your post got me thinking..
I have never felt any sympathy for Dev ever. But if I look from your POV I can see his pain. Still can't feel any sympathy because it's his own doing. Ish is the way she is because he lets her be. He lost the love of his life all thanks to Ishwari.. he lost precious 6 years of his daughters life.. again it was Ishwari's doing. Did he learn anything from those loses? NOPE. He is still feeding his mom's ego. Never has guts to tell her when she is wrong.

I know that I have said this many times. But I am serious about it.Ishwari needs a psychiatrist. She is a control freak and maniac.
She talks about Sona ruining Soha's childhood but she doesn't even acknowledge what she did to Neha and Riya. She even has a hand in ruining Dev.

This woman is beyond repair. And Dev is following her path.He should have learnt to draw the line when she had popped the pills for the first time.He should have learnt to refuse her demands.
