Here's why Deepika said NO to Majid Majidi's film.

A lot was said about Deepika Padukones presence in Majid Majidi's film. When Shahid Kapoors brother Ishaan got confirmed for the film, there were reports that the actress didn't make it even after giving the look test at the dhobi ghaat in Mumbai. But the truth is that the Padmavati actress herself said no to the project as she wasn't too kicked about its storyline.

According to reports, Deepika Padukone as a respect to the director did the look test of the film. However even when she was doing the look test she had made it clear that she would say yes to the film only once she had heard or read the final draft of the script. Unfortunately, Deepika Padukone didn't like what she heard as the final draft. It's not something she was looking at this stage of her career. So respectfully she decided not to be part of the project. So now you know why you won't see Deepika in the film. It was really important to get her side of the story after rumours of her getting rejected started to do the rounds. Finally, the truth is out. But did you know Kangana Ranaut was offered the sister's part in Majidi's film? As per reports on Mid-day, the two had in fact met up to discuss the project but Kangana eventually opted out as she felt the sister's role wasn't powerful enough. She had reportedly suggested that the script be reworked to make her role more prominent but the filmmaker refused to give in. Guess Deepika too had similar grievances with the script which might have made her say no to it.

Ishaan commenced the shooting for Beyond The Clouds on January 23 in Mumbai. Shahid Kapoor posted a picture on his Instagram with Ishaan and wrote, "This ones ready to fly. Make us proud @ishaan95 (sic)" Music maestro AR Rahman is in Paris working with Le Trio Joubran, a trio of musicians from Palestine, for Beyond The Clouds. AR Rahman and Majid have earlier collaborated on Muhammad: The Messenger of God.
