@ allforlove.. i agree bitterness fades away with time. But the scar it leaves behind dont. The other day gemini54 opened a thread on fatherhood which opened some unhealed wounds for me. My father never trusted me where it mattered most nd chose to steer my life by outsider's comments or fearof society. As a teenager my expectation was my parents will trust nd support me no matter wht but i was proved wrong. It has stayed with me after all these years. Now aft 15 yrs ofmarriage whn he tries to meddle with my daughters life i tell him politely nd firmly tht i am not him nd my parenting shd be left to my own ways.

So the bitterness cannot be termed as shortlived or long. It depends on the person who is affected by it. As for dev he feels betrayed by the two persons he loved most. He has done a partial closure with his mother. But with sona he is yet to do it. The pond is just getting stirred. The stink of tripathi's hand in it has t resurface for thm to clean the pond nd make peace

I am sorry to hear about your father but you do deal with things politely despite being wronged, isn't it? Any mature person would. Moreover, in Dev's case, he had done too many wrong himself things for him to simply brush them under the carpet and blame Sona. He can't be so oblivious at his age! Still, he is still behaving in the same way as before - just trying to prove he doesn't care this time! Which proves he hasn't grown enough yet to handle his relationship with Sona. But then, people (and characters) are different - so are their reactions - so, I will give him the benefit of doubt for now.

I simply wonder why he hasn't even begun to think about why things went wrong between them when there was so much love, not once in seven years 😲 What more will it take for him to start thinking about it? Do the makers have enough time to show the transition convincingly enough? And change he must if he has to get back with Sona! Simply accepting his love for her once again won't help them. They must meet each other half way to restore the relationship. And it would take more effort than last time since the cracks are still wide open.
