I kinda have different POV- Dev is blind when it comes to decisions made by his mother (Rhea's rishta) unless given any insight by Sona. When it required his action for Ishwari'a health, he went all out and stretched above and beyond.
And also, I don't think it's a bad idea to put the female lead on a pedestal. In a country like ours where the men are always deemed right by a patriarchal society, it's refreshing to view a woman who is independent, educated but still cares about every minor detail of her husband's (and now her) family. She can be silly by paying attention to the wrong things but she means well :)
