Does Karan really love Lakshmi?? Or is he just feeling sorry for her and ashamed of himself because of what he has done....

He never loved Lakshmi before... He was always scheming against her and her family... he tried his best to humiliate her... He might be repenting all that now... But there is no reason for "LOVE" to suddenly pop up from nowhere when it was never there in the first place....

Why did he look totally shattered when Lakshmi threw the mangalsutra at him?? Was he really devastated at her breaking off their marriage or he was simply sad that she hadnt forgiven him..?? Their marriage wasnt really a marriage tht its breaking would affect Karan so badly......

So I dont get his behavior...
