Superstar Salman Khan says strict action must be taken against those who leak films online.

Recently, films like "Udta Punjab", "Great Grand Masti" and Salman-starrer "Sultan" were leaked online before their official release.

"It's disgusting that films are getting leaked online before release. These people are nothing less than thieves as they make money in the name of other person's hard work. It (piracy) is the worst profession, Salman said in an interview.

"Someone suggested you should put TADA (Terrorist and Disruptive Activities (Prevention) Act) on people who buy and sell it (pirated DVD). As we pay tax and Maharashtra has the heaviest tax, something should be done. When two people will go to prison, others will stop it. It (piracy) doesn't happen in South," he said.

One of the reasons often cited for piracy are huge ticket prices. The 50-year-old "Dabangg" star, however, feels that ticket prices reduce after the weekend and there are single screen theatres as well where the prices are not much high.

"What about watching the film after the weekend that is Monday onwards. There are single screens as well. Even I feel the ticket prices are high but if you look at the infrastructure, the cost of real estate then you will understand that if they (multiplexes) don't charge that much, then the theatre will close down," he said.

Salman will be seen next in Kabir Khan's "Tubelight".

🤣 pakka being human businessman when it comes about looting people with inflated ticket price.
In south people prefer to watch in movie hall as ticket price is low even in multiplex due to cap restriction in many states. U cant support this type of noble act because ur personal collection will drop few crores.

Regarding single screen count how many single screen left in metro like delhi ? oh tubelight 😆

Agree
Its serious matter for the whole industry and I feel people availing those services should also be heavily fined. Only then can those folks stop...

Piracy is a serious issue that should be dealt with, but oh the irony he is suggesting jail when he himself manipulates the system to avoid it.😆

in south there is cap, true but the quality of the cinema experience is reduced too. Except Spi cinemas, I don't see any multiplex being equally good.. i mean compare a pvr in chennai to pvr in bangalore, you will see lot of difference... only reason that makes sense to me is pvr cannot provide better experience with a cap on ticket price in chennai...

Why stop there? Send everyone to prison. Piracy offenders, people who "misuse freedom of speech on the internet", people who beat up their girlfriends, people who kill others when driving under the influence etc. Oh... wait.😛

To be fair, if he wants to send people to prison for watching his shitty movies, I can get behind that. Might be the catalyst that finally forces the industry to make better movies.

P.S. Did he really suggest that piracy should be considered a crime under the TADA act - the anti-terrorism law which expired in 1995? 😆😆 For someone who spent so much time evading the law, you'd figure he'd be the least bit knowledgeable about it but nah.Save

PVR is a same chain with same ambiance with near about similar experience i have both in Delhi and bangalore . Whom i am bashing here i saw his movie in a bangalore PVR @ 120 for time pass 😉while same movie rate in a similar multiplex in delhi is @175 .

Believe me they can make money only thing profit percentage of multiplext , movie star and producer pocket will become light bit light or decrease and customer pocket or viewer pocket will become little bit heavy.
