Read your blog... You took a lot of efforts to pen down your thoughts. But after reading fully, what i feel is you have not seen the show from the start. According to what you have written, It seems you have started watching the show after Sonakshi's accident.

Below are my thoughts:

Dev cannot read signals:

Ok he couldn't read the signals... If you have watched the show from the start, you would know Dev never understood even his sisters wishes. They have to tell him what they want. He never understood anything himself. Yes he observed the change in behavior of Sona after the accident. But, he has told her that he feels its because of the heavy medication that she is behaving weird... He is a straight forward guy and have many times pointed out that he feels Sona is behaving weird. And he who didn't even know anything about love, how can he even think that she is in love with him. He didn't know what happens when one is in love.

And he was always engrossed in his work that he paid little attention to Sona's change in behavior towards him.

Rejecting matches without reasoning

Dev nenver thought of his marriage before and once Mr. Gujral put forward the proposal. He was shaken.. He didn't get time to think much. And who told you that man will only love a girl who's like him and her family should have the same stature... Bose family is crazy for sure but they are not bad and Dev always liked Sona's family, for they are happy go lucky. And by the way it was not that he closed his eyes and imagined the girl he wants to marry. The realisation started much earlier for him. With Neel's entry, he was a bit jealous and insecure. And he was only relieved to know the bf thing was fake.

And where is it written a rich man will only marry a rich girl. I have seen many cases where the life partners are totally opposite to each other in nature as well as family status. And after knowing that he is in love with another girl, was the reason not good enough to call off the engagement?

Love marriages

You are taking only Neha and Ranveer's case. They have also shown Sona's parents and Dev's mom Ishwari.. Sona's parents had a arranged marriage and Dev's parents too and were happy. Sona's parents still are.

Yes, Sona was in love with Dev and wanted him in her life and when Natasha entered she was broken. Which girl will not be shattered to know the one she loves don't even know about her feelings and now somebody else has entered his life. And for the accident thing, Sona fell in love with Dev way before the accident. It was just that after the accident the way Dev took care of her made the feelings deeper.

Notion of business people liking/marrying someone out of business

How do you know Natasha was a better choice. Yes she was a smart, intelligent, good looking girl from an affluent family. But that doesn't make her perfect for Dev.

But Sona understands Dev well. She's always there for him. She makes him realise that he needs to enjoy the life and should think of things other than business too. She made him understand that he needs to discuss his problems with others. He need to let his sisters lead a normal life (In nikki's case)... There are amny more things that makes DevAkshi perfect for eachother.

And what this notion is all about. What's wrong if a rich man marries a woman from a middle class family because he loves her. I mean come on. Nobody thinks of society's notions while falling in love or getting married.

The girl the hero is in love with is seriously anorexic

Sending a wrong message. What you have written in this point is sending a wrong message. You want to say no man can fall in love with a skinny girl. Like seriously? I am sorry. But i felt really bad when i read that.

First of all this may be valid for those who fall for the physical appearance of a girl and Dev didn't fall in love with Sonakshi for her looks or body type. He fell in love with her inner beauty... For the way she is. He loves Sonakshi the way she is. (I really feel who have not watched the show from its very start.)

The attitude that Bose puts and the results she gets

Ok giving you an example for this: My best friend is married to guy with whom she used to only fight in our first year of B.E. And it's a love marriage.

Yes she behaved rude with him. But it was because he too did things that hurt her. Both of them were equally right and equally wrong. And by the time Natasha came in Dev's life, Dev and Sona were firends.

And where is it written, if a girl is nice to you, you will fall in love with her. I mean, you'll find many people similar to what you are. You don't fall in love with them right. Sometimes, you fall in love with the one exactly opposite to you.

OMG... Why this now... Why is it necessary for a secretary to fall in love with her boss. Just because he's a eligible bachelor. This seems more fictional to me.

Dev's sister on marrying a guy from middle class

The acotrs have already mentioned in the interviews that the story is not new, only the presentation is.

And Neha's story is also given importance.

Available time

Where is it written that a businessman cannot take time off for his gf? Come on, businessmen do go on vacation of 15-20 days with their families. Business is not handled by a single person, there are many people involved and if Dev doesn't go to the office for even 2-3 days, his staff can very well handle things.

And they have never shown him not going to the office for the whole day. He does go to the office, even if it is for a short span. And yes he was in love and wanted to spend some time with his lady. He did miss his office. But it happens, when you are in love.

I know what all you have written is your POV, but i wanted to share mine.

Everyone has their perspective and opinions in life. Our past , upbringing , culture etc affects our approach to life.

So after reading your write up, below given are my thoughts.

- Girls not being able to speak their heart to the man she loves. - I don't think gender has anything to do with it. Its about a person's character, if they can open up or not . There are many men too , who might not say their heart out . Mostly here falling in love or loving some one is not seen as a good character . I have personally never understood why people should feel that way.

- Trophy Wife - never understood this concept . I believe there is nothing in this world called as a perfect match , perfect husband, perfect wife, perfect marraige etc. We all come with our strengths and weakness.

- Convo betwn mother and daughter - I guess all have enjoyed this.

- Relation Betwn Mother and Son - Yes beautifully picturised . No second thoughts about it. Cant be any better. And in reality such relationship do face hardships when the son gets married. But eventually time helps them to adjust and accommodate each other.

- Dev cannot read her mind - I don't think she was very explicit about her affection for him. We as viewers know it because of the conversations she had with Elina and her Brother. I don't think he understood his own affection for her. Kept thinking it was friendship.

- Dev rejecting match with out reason - He had one. Natasha didn't fit into "his kind of life partner "image. He didn't see the Natasha that way. Was ok to have her as a business partner but not as wife. Him not liking Natasha was his choice. It's a personal decision.

- Love marriages - Every marriage should have love/respect/trust / friendship/sacrifice along with responsibility for each other in it. Doesn't matter if the girl /guy is ur choice or ur parents choice. What matters is how you treat your marriage. I have never understood why people give so much importance to the words "love/arranged" in front of marriage. No matter love/arranged once married every one is on the same track.

- Business people marrying - Again very personal. Cant generalise.

- Girl that hero likes is very thin - Very personal. Beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder. Marriage is for companionship . I felt bad reading this comment because one should not be judged through their looks . Its all god given . Fat /thin/tall/dark how does it matter if the girl and boy likes each other. Who are we to judge a person's appearance.

- Tina - Again I would say its upto a person to choose his/her life partner. Just because you work with some one daily you don't fall in love with that person .

- Dev's sis marrying a middle class guy could have been the story line - Well the writer wanted to have a story to show the relationship betwn , mother, son and daughter in law. And bring a new trend that daughter in laws and mother in laws need not compete each other , rather your son's get married and bring the girl to complete the family.

- Available time - He knows his business and has enough people who would work for him. As long as he knows what he needs to do why should we worry ?

- Regarding what impact the show would have on society - Todays generation is very smart . They don't fall for such stories. They know what they want in life. They would watch the serial , enjoy those scenes go back doing their day to day task, so that they can achieve the goals that they have set for themselves in their respective lives.

This is just an entertainment shouldn't be given too much importance.
