It is not uncommon for television actors these days to quit television and pursue their 70-mm screen dream but it looks like that is not the case for Saath Nibhana Saathiyaactor Vishal Singh. Vishal aka Jigar will soon be seen in an upcoming film.

A few days back we had reported about Mohammad Nazim a.k.a. Ahem making his bollywood debut. Today, we bring to you Vishal Singh, who too is all set to make a mark on the big screen.

Vishal will be making his big-screen debut on May 6th with the remake of hit Tamil film Traffic. The film was directed by acclaimed director, late Rajesh Pillai. As the film received a positive response, it was remade in Kannada, Malayalam and Hindi. We got talking to Vishal about his film.

Excerpts.

Vishal, this is your big-screen debut and it is a Tamil remake. How was your experience?

It feels amazing. I had a very good time while shooting for it. I was offered the film, but I watched the Tamil version and only then did I give the nod for the remake. You know, I have not seen the final cut of the film till now. As for the experience, it was great working with veterans like Manoj Bajpayee, Divya Dutta and Jimmy Shergill. Even though the film is releasing quite late, I believe that there is a right time for everything.

How pivotal is your role in the film?

There is no such thing as a lead actor or actress in this film. It is an ensemble cast, where one character is dependent on the other. All of us together take the story forward. It is not like the story is dependent on one character only. All of our storylines are inter connected. Without any one of us, the story will not be able to move forward. It is all linked.

The director of the film Rajesh Pillai passed away in February. How was it working with him?

Just yesterday, I was at the trailer launch of the film. I really wish he was here today. He was the man who made a mark in the South Indian film industry. But it was his wish to make a mark in Bollywood as well. I so wish he could live longer to see the film release in Bollywood. Amol Parashar, who plays my friend in the film and I, were both very close to Raju Sir. He was a very lively person, who used to crack jokes, sit and chat with us.

Your film is releasing on the 6th of May and so is Vishal Karwal's 1920: London. What would you want to say about the clash?

(laughs) It is the clash of two Vishals! See. It is not a Salman Khan or Shah Rukh Khan level film. Both the films are two completely different genres, Real and Fiction. And the audiences too have their own choices. But I request my fans and well-wishers to see Traffic, as it is based on a real life incident.

The trailer of the film released yesterday and has already started garnering positive reviews from all quarters. Lets pray that this film opens the doors of Bollywood for Vishal Singh.

All the very Best Vishal!
