Im kind of dissapointed that a well read girl like her would not know English? And the fact that she is so gullible she believe anything Rajmata tells her. Any girl by now would have started questioning the fact of whether Ranaji loves her or not by now?

Surely "coffee"is "coffee" in hindi too ??? 😳
and maybe she doesn't understand English but my attention was instantly drawn to her use of hindi as well, in particular when she was asking Rana to fill her maang today.. her use of language in front of rana the ji and suniyey's made me realize we are watching the 1930's.

If she doesn't know English, then I'm sure the CVs are planning a track in the future where Gayu learns and none other than Ranaji will be her teacher. Because we saw that the British are dealt with differently by Rajmata, the Uncle, even Dadi, so Ranaji may want her to learn from him directly how to speak publicly to them. If they haven't planned it that way it will be a missed opportunity for some RaGa scenes and him having pride in her achievement to learn, how quick she learns etc.

I think Gayu knows how to speak English. She does not know aspects related to culture, habits, and customs. There might be people who know what tea is but not green tea. It doesn't mean they don't know to speak English. Same for Gayu. She knows coffee but not black coffee.

I was surprised at the way she reacted and how she seemed to look flabbergasted by the phrase "Black coffee". She is an educated girl. Surely she would know that much Englsih even if she doesn't speak it? Is this the same girl that gave tight to that Anderson or whatever at the party? She looked like a fish out of water here.
Let's hope if she doesn't know English they teach her very soon!
