It had been a week since shreya joined the management team of KKN. After their confession,Kabir and ananya had been inseparable. Their relationship had gone through the sweet initial stages of heavy love dose,cute&caring moments & heavy passion. Their bond and love was stronger than ever. When shreya entered the scene,she cudnt do much to hinder their unbreakable love. She behaved coldly with Ananya,but ananya was as even a match for her as she cud be. She tried to manipulate Kabir,but he was relentless. All of her efforts were in vain. So,she changed track. Now she started being extra sweet and flirty towards kabir. He sensed her game&to fool her and beat her at it,he played along,flirting back with her and paying her extra attention. He intended to checkmate her. However,he hadn't had a chance to disclose this to ananya as shreya was always at his heels. As a result of which ananya had gotten hurt when she saw him flirting with shreya. She was heartbroken but put up a brave face. She ignored Kabir's explaination,saying she didn't need it. But kabir knew the truth and he wanted to clarify it with her ASAP.

But presently,there were in the conference room,in a important meeting,so he didn't get the chance.Everyone was there,with the addition of shreya. The meeting was very important,so everyone had been instructed to switch off their cell phones. But ananya had forgotten it. To her bad luck,her cell buzzed in the conference room. She tried to cut off the call but shreya and Malvika immediately said "Y,it seems everything is more important for miss ananya kashyap other than work. Let us also know,what's the urgency? Pick up the call and put it on speaker."

Ananya was shocked. She looked at kabir for help but she saw that he was hesitating. Furious,she decided she didn't need his help. She picked up the call and put it on speaker. "Hello,ananya?" The rich baritone of nikhil oberoi,her first boss,best friend and first real relationship was hard to miss. (See my previous OS 'Admitting it' for more clarification.) Everyone in the room was shocked. They knew nikhil well,he was a hero in the world of journalism. And Kabir knew he had dated ananya..."Nikhil?" Ananya gasped. "Yes it's me. I'm sorry to disturb u,but I wanted to know if ur doing fine. U know,coping with the presence of shre.." He hadnt finished before she cut him off "Yes I'm fine. Now I have to rush..." But everyone had understood that he meant to say shreya's name. nikhil then interrupted her "Anu,how long r u going to oppress and suppress ur feelings?" She smiled at his concern and replied "The world doesn't look at emotions and feelings anymore,Nick..so it doesn't matter if I voice mine. Life slaps u hard in the face everyday,every damn day. U have to be strong." Kabir looked at her,flabbergasted. She hadn't ever shared these feeling with him...was she losing her innocence? Y cudnt she share her emotions with HIM? Didn't he mean something to her? He was also feeling furious at the man on the other hand of the phone..

Nikhil,on the other hand was processing her tone and words. Finally he said "Anu, if u hv loved someone then this happens. Obstacles come,ppl create problems..life feels like hell. But that doesn't mean u give up,ok? Don't let anyone get to u. If anyone is trying to bring u down,it only means u r higher than them. Hold ur head high and walk away with a smile. In the end,love conquers all. And a lioness doesn't lose sleep over the opinion of sheep. And u r my lioness,right?" Kabir fumed in anger at the last statement. Ananya was feeling overwhelmed. The others were just staring in shock. Finally ananya said "Ur right. I..I'm sorry. I love him more than my life..but.." "But u feel scared and vulnerable. I know. It happens. But don't ever lose what u hv with him,alright? It's the best thing that's ever happened to you." Nikhil finished for her. Kabir's frown and anger changed into a smile. He was starting to like this man! Shreya and Malvika glared hard at the speaker. Finally ananya said with a fond smile on her face " I'll keep that in mind. Now I really gotta go,nikhil SIR. I'll speak to u later." "Alright." Nikhil chuckled and cut the call. Ananya stared at her phone. Everyone was in kind of a trance. Finally khalid said "That was the drama for the day. Miss kashyap,I'm glad u know nikhil oberoi. In the future we will utilise this. For now,everyone,can we get back to work?" Everyone nodded and the meeting continued with no further interruptions. When it was adjourned,everyone left the room. But a certain editor in chief took his junior's hand and pinned her to the wall,putting his arms above her head. Ananya grinned. "This is starting to feel like a pattern." She teased. He smiled back. "I like doing it with u. Now,tell me. Y didn't u inform me that shreya&my behaviour with her is hurting u? And that call..well that man is lucky he said all the right things..if he tried to flirt with u or get all soft and cushy with u he wud have had to face me..and the consequences wud not have been pleasant." Ananya grinned and said. "I didn't want to burden u with my feelings. And I trusted u also. As for Nick,u know there is no place in my heart for anyone else other than u." Kabir sighed in relief. Brushing his lips across hers,he whispered "Ananya,shreya was trying to trick me by flirting with me. What I'm doing is playing along nd beating her at her own game..then she will stop bothering us. I never intended to hurt u..I was gonna tell u. Im sorry.I love u." Ananya smiled.

"I know..I love you too. And I trust u blindly,like I said. U r my life. And I'm with u in this plan.. Hum log saath mei usse phasayenge..majja aayega!!" Kabir laughed hard at the childish excitement in her voice. "You really r something!!" He exclaimed and not being able to control himself any longer,smacked his lips on hers in a hungry and demanding kiss. She kissed back with equal hunger. Standing there,with their lips covering each other's and being in each other's arms,they both felt at home. THIS,was perfection.
