Prologue
"You shout it out,
But I can't hear a word you say,
I'm bullet proof nothing to lose,
Fire away fire away."
The room was dark. Only the light from the window illuminated it a bit. The lamp on the small wooden table was flickering making the only sound inside the room.
A man was facing the window, frozen still. His wheelchair towards the sill as he stared outside, finding hidden answers to his unspoken questions.
It had been a year since he was in the same position. He stared outside the window. The stern expression never leaving his face. His eyes were lifeless,sitting in his wheelchair he continued to stare.
"Arnav. I'm home." He heard her cheerful voice. He didn't turn or look back. He kept staring.
She kept the roses in the vase on his bedside table and went to him. Bending down holding his hand, she kissed it.
He still stared ahead, not moving, not changing his posture.
"Arnav, look at me."
He turned and saw her tearful face. "You'll be fine soon." She assured him. He didn't reply, he simply diverted his gaze back to the window.
She left the room.
Flashbacks echoed his head.
"Aaah!" he shouted as he rocked back and forth on his chair.
"Arnav" She quickly hugged him and caressed his hair as he struggled in her arms.
"Shush, it's okay. Nothing happened. Calm down."
After a few minutes he relaxed and again stared at the window.
"I love you" she said as she kissed his forehead. After a few minutes,she closed the door behind her and left.
