CHAPTER 7 - WARMTH
'Oh love, give me another chance.Perhaps the beauty lies in your heart.'
"Khushi" he whispered as he sat next to her.She lifted her face to see him with her red eyes realising his eyes were just as red.
"You...you were crying ?" She asked in a barely audible voice.
"No. I wasn't."
"Your eyes are red." she accused.
"Ya. I got some allergy." He replied, looking away from her.
"Um. I'm sorry Khushi. I shouldn't have shouted like that." She looked up to him and started sobbing again.
Before he could say anything ,the light went out and she hugged him tightly, scared.Trying to find solace in those unknown arms, trying to find love from someone who was still a stranger.She cried, her hands drilling more and more in his shirt.Her heart pained, she was tired, she was vulnerable.
To her surprise, he hugged her back tightly as well. He hugged her, closing his warm eyes.
Trying to solve this puzzle in his life.Trying to find comfort in her. He didn't cry but he didn't let her go.He wanted her. He didn't know why.He just wanted her to be there with him at that moment. Feeling her cry against his chest all this was unknown, mysterious and strange yet he didn't know why it felt so lovely.

"NK, I don't care. You know the rules. You break them, I shoot you."
"But sir, I have been loyal throughout my life. I wish to end this."
"You can't son. Now leave or you want hell ? By the way do give me your wife's number, been some time since I last saw her." The man winked.
"You're disgusting." An enraged NK said as he slapped him.
Bullets echoed the whole building.
-------------The dog's howl brought them to the present. They both came out of each other's embrace and looked at each other.
That was the first time he noticed the depth in her eyes.
Something had happened, they didn't know what. Suddenly something had changed and something had developed.
He got up from the bed and gave her some water.
"Did you eat anything ?"She nodded her head in a no.
After a few minutes, she found him returning with a plate of noodles.
"Um, I'm sorry. I just know how to make this."She was touched, he cooked for her.She tried to eat but her body had got extremely weak due to all the crying.
"Um. Wait." He said as he held her hand and started feeding her.
"Thank you." she smiled at him.
Khushi got up in the middle of the night and saw him sleeping.Her head was paining she felt shivers down her body.
"Are you cold ?" His calm voice asked her.She simply nodded her head. It indeed was one of the chillest winter nights.
"Do... do you want me.. to hug you ?"
"I don't know."
He touched her forehead and saw the temperature lowering.Without another word, he took her in his arms and she immediately fell asleep in his arms. He closed the lamp and slept keeping his head on hers.
