"--I'll break it off and we'll get married, I promise!"Her eyes stayed on the face that she had erased from her life. Erased? Looks like he still was there in her mind, waiting to come back and... haunt her like it did everyday, before she left that hell hole and came here to start over.
She felt some kind of warmth encasing her hand, as it was lifted. She looked down at her hand enclosed in both his hands, and blinked.
"Va--" she was interrupted, when she felt a gust of wind behind her, as something rushed almost into her and was beside her the next moment.
"You! What're you doing here? Haven't you had enough of hurting Vidushi?"
Vidushi's eyes widened as Parth's husky voice induced words seeped into her. What the hell is he doing here?! she thought, as her mind raced to find an excuse to get Parth out of this room. He has no right! No right! she mentally screamed, as his hand balled into a fist around Varun's shirt.
She looked at him, watching him, listening to him as he spoke rudely to Varun.
"Listen, you idiot! She's had enough and doesn't want anything to do with you. So do all of us a favour and don't ever show your face to us," Parth's other hand came up in warning. Vidushi's heart was almost in her mouth, as she thought that he was about to punch. But she sighed in relief when Parth only pointed a warning finger at Varun.
"Parth, I can handle it," she heard herself talking and looked up at Parth, who turned to her with disbelief written all over his face.
"Vidushi, he's--"
"Please," Vidushi interrupted Parth, who looked at Varun and back at Vidushi, and was about to speak, when Vidushi beat him to it. "I will handle it. It's my personal matter and you don't need to inter--"
Parth felt his hold being jerked off and he turned his attention to the idiot face, who stood there, straightening his shirt with a smug look and spoke in his even more idiotic voice.
"That's right! It's our personal matter, and who the hell are you to threaten me?" Parth grit his teeth, fisting his hands to control himself from punching the guy.
His eyes didn't miss the movement of the Varun guy's hands that reached out to grab Vidushi's. Before he could even get a wisp of her skin, Parth stepped forward, and pushed Vidushi a bit behind him. Jutting his chin out in challenge, he spoke, "I am her boyfriend. What will you do?" his daring tone switching on, as he calmly stared back into Varun's eyes.
What the hell did she even see in him?! he wondered to himself. Love is blind! The ****?! He shook his head mentally and focused on the situation at hand.
"Parth," he heard a distinct shriek from over his shoulder, but he ignored it. He could feel Vidushi struggling to get her hand free from his grip. "Par--"
Parth watched Varun fumble a bit. He could feel the guy's wheels turning in his head. But they are slow. Way slow.
"Stay the hell away from my girlfriend, or you'll regret it," Parth spoke in a low baritone, chilly enough to feel Vidushi stop her struggling for a second after he spoke.
"What will you do? Kill me?" Varun challenged him.
"Even better," Parth replied, with a raise of his eyebrows. "I'll send you to jail, for harassing my girlfriend," he finished, with a smug look and slight tilt of his chin, as a smirk sneaked up into his lips.
Varun stuttered. "You-- Vidushi-- he can't-- Vidushi?" he looked towards Vidushi for help, but Parth blocked his view. He tried again, only to be blocked by the broad set of shoulders, standing in protective stance in front of Vidushi.
"Parth, stop it--"
"Leave now or I'll complain about harassing Vidushi, right now!" he barked again, and watched Varun scurry from the visiting room, like his tail was on fire. Metaphorically speaking. Although, he would love to watch that Varun's real tail on fire.
"Varun!"
Coward, he thought, with a smug smirk and a shake of his head, when he felt some stinging pain around his wrist. He looked down to see Vidushi helplessly tugging at her wrist and clawing the back of his hand and his wrist.
"What did you do?!" she screamed at him, a pained expression and a distinct panic in her eyes.
"He didn't even fight for you," Parth said calmly, before watching rage redden her cheeks.
"He told me he loves me," she spat and tugged at her wrist again.
"He doesn't love you, Vidushi," Parth replied calmly, pulling her closer gently, ignoring the pain on his hand.
"He loves me!" and tried to twist her wrists out of his hand again.
Parth wondered if Vidushi was trying to convince him or herself. Delusional?
"Whom are you kidding, Vidushi?" he scoffed, leaning forward, his nose touching hers. "He doesn't love you," his words harsher than intended. He regretted it when she stopped struggling, and saw her wince and her eyes fill up with tears, as she hastily looked away, to hide them from him.
You can't hide it all from me, Vidushi.
Why am I crying?! she mentally screamed. She had had enough of this!! All because of Parth, Varun had scat away from here.
"He's not like you!"
Parth frowned, before the meaning seeped into him, making him grit his teeth.
"He never will be, because I don't use people!"
Vidushi gasped. "You don't have any right to--"
"I have every right to have a say here!" he interrupted her wobbly voice. He felt the rage rushing into his ears, as he remembered hearing Varun make false promises to Vidushi. Even a blind man could deduce what a big fat liar that douche was, and here was Vidushi. All judgmental, and bitchy, but totally blind to his real face. What's gotten into her?!
"You think after you do what he says, he'll come back to you?" he couldn't help but voice it out. He wanted Vidushi to think about it, realise how idiotic she was to even consider about accepting this stupid offer. Stupid Girl!
"When did you become so stupid?" he frowned and shook his head once in askance.
The next moment, he found his head turned to one side. Throbbing slowly increased underneath his skin, the sting indicating the blood rush to his cheek.
Growling, "Bad move," he grabbed her shoulder, pulling her closer, only to have her forearms between them, pushing at his chest to keep a considerable distance between them.
"You," pointing a finger a his face in warning, "stay away from my personal life!"
"I am your boyfriend," he tilted his head in a clear dare.
"Not anymore!" Vidushi growled out, before pushing hard at his chest, and breaking free.
