Shlok goes into the dark and dingy store room, with no source of light to brighten it up and where the old and unused stuff is stored. He grabs the coil of rope, hammer and hooks, rushes to the brightly lit living room and sets to make the rope partition, by driving the hooks into the wall with the hammer and tying the rope across the Agnihotri house, dividing it into two halves.

The dark store room, with unlit chandeliers hanging above and empty candle holders and empty vases everywhere, is symbolic of the deep seated ignorance and unhappiness in the Agnihotri family. The old items strewn there are the outdated traditions that are being used to suppress the women. In the living room, where all the separation drama is happening, the chandelier is well lit, filling the house and its occupants with light. Chandelier reflects light from a tiny light source and gives out more light. This tiny act of tying the rope drives away the ignorance and drives home the point that its important to set limits and respect those limits in a healthy relationship.

Rope tied between two hooks is symbolic of the relationship between two individuals and the boundaries that are needed for a healthy relationship. In Agnihotri house, women don't know how to set limits and men don't know how to respect those limits. In yesterday's episode, Aastha set those limits and Shlok respected those limits.

Nice take Rekha. I like how you have interpreted the usage of rope as setting of boundaries. 😉 Aastha defintely set those much neededboundaries, Shlock respected them , Anjali realised them and Niranjan was forced to not ignore them any more. I liked the precap too .. an innocent soul questioning the physical manifestation of boundaries. She does not understand them but she has to learn for her own good.

REKHA...loved ur explanation of the rope ..and chandeliers of light ...so apt for the agnihotri family and limits set between men and women ..for healthy relationship...and safety too.

Even I thought the rope as ...Lakshman Rekha ...of not crossing limits..b by anyone ...Man or Woman ...and also protection to the women too ...as lakshmana drew to protect Sita...but which she crossed ...to be captured by Ravana ...only to be killed by Rama ...to save Sita ...as astha is in that position now with evil baba ...with her ...crossing the limits ...from shlok's protection ...with her search for truth ...and maybe ego too ...instead of love .

Shlok respected astha's boundaries ...showing others too especially baba ...to respect them .
So shlok will break baba ...if he as much as ...cross limits with astha...in any way ...
And shlok will teach astha too ...her limits ...and strengths too .. .

This was what I perceived of the epi ...setting of limits ...for all .

Good interpretation Rekha..I like how you connected the chandelier with light of hope in their lives and rope to be setting of boundaries.
Btw., did you notice the horn in bottom most right picture? 😛, that was what I was talking about. That is the chair where NA is seated every time.

i think its the relationship between aastha and shlok, that acts as a catalyst in changing all the other relationships .
😛 they can fix the wall easily by replacing that part of the tile or wood panel.
