Astha waited for shlok.. she was continuously looking at the entrance gate. There were less students in college as she was early today. Only some students who cam eto practice was coming. Hours passed. It almost nine when a student came to astha

Student : are you astha?

Astha : yes.

Student : somebody gave me this, and said to give it to you. Here.

[the student handed her a small note. Astha quickly opened it. It was a note from shlok. "meet me in the library in 5 minutes" that was all in that note. Astha felt so happy seing that note. She decided to talk to him openly and ask some time. She ran her way to the libraray. The library was empty. Astha started searching for shlok here and there. She ran past the history section, when she felt like she saw something, astha came back and saw shlok leaning against the book shelf, and smiling, the smile was breath taking, astha felt like she would collaps right there, she slowly moved towards shlok and opened her mouth to say something when suddenly shlok put his finger on her lips ]

Shlok : shhh... kuch mat kaho... I know everything... I know you are not yet ready to accept my love, its okay jaan, but keep one thing in mind, my love for you is real.

[saying this shlok slowly came to her side and gently picked her up, astha gasped at his action]

Astha : shlok???

Shlok : do you trust me?

[honesty was clear in shloks eyes, so astha stopped herself from asking further questions,and slightly nodded her head to which shlok smiled. Shlok started to walk slowly out of the library with astha safe in his arms, astha was looking at shlok's face and never realized he was taking her up to the roof. When shlok reached the terrace, he gently put astha down. ]

Astha ; shlok why are we here? Nobody comes here na? even the principle has said not to come here.

Shlok : I know astha, but look there

[shlok pointed to a distance, and when astha looked at where he was pointing she was surprised. It was a small lake were swans were swimming, trees on both sides of the lake with beautiful red flowers on them. If the concentrate some more they can here the birds chirping. Sun rays were reflecting in the lake wate. Astha was in awe with moment. She slowly turned to face shlok]

Astha: shlok this is amazing... thank you so much for bringing me here.

Shlok : tumhare liye toh kuch bhi...

[astha and shlok were lost in each others eyes, astha slowly ran her hands up to shloks shoulders, shlok slowly wrapped his one arm around astha's waist, astha locked her hands around shlok's neck, shlok slowly leaned in, their noses touched, shlok gently brushed his nose with astha's, her cheeks turned red with shyness, shlok leaned in further, and pulled astha more close at the same time, their lips were inches apart, when suddenly they heard "astha.. astha..."]

Astha : sojal?

Sojal : astha? Tum pagal ho gayi ho kya? What are doing in the roof alone?

Astha : sojal who mein?

Sojal : what? Astha, why did you come here? Atleast mujhe bula leti.

Astha : who mein shlok ke saath...

Sojal : shlok? Where is shlok?

Astha : here

[but astha was shocked there was nobody there except her and sojal.]

Astha : he was here sojal, trust me...

Sojal : astha you have gone mad... Mujhe divya ne bataya, that you are up here, she tried to stop you but you never listned, she said you were talking to yourself. Kya hua he astha?

Astha : sojal I thought I was with shlok.. I mean he was here...

[tears started to flow down from her eyes]

Sojal : astha.. shhh.. its okay.. its okay... come here

[sojal pulled astha into a tight hug. ]

Sojal ; you were thinking about him too much astha, that's why this has happened. Its okay.. come lets go to the canteen. Lets drink a chai and you will feel better.

[after having the chai, sojal and astha went to their class. But astha was not able concentrate, she some how managed till lunch break, but when the bell rang, she ran out of the class room towards the auditorium. When she reached there all the students wre practicing, she scanned the whole room, but shlok was nowhere. She returned from there disappointed. She slowly walked towards the canteen, where she was sure that sojal will be waiting.]

Sojal : kaha gayi thi? Mujhe bata toh deti.. I have been looking for you. Then I thought you would come here. Now tell me kaha gayi thi?

Astha : shlok!

Sojal : he is not here

Astha : what?

Sojal : vrad told me that shlok is not coming to college today. He went to attend some wedding in Punjab.

Astha : oh...okay...

[days passed but shloik never showed up at college, astha would wait for him every day. As days passed astha was beginning to realize that she loved shlok... now she was waiting for shlok to come to college so that she can say what she should have said earlier.]

Astha : varad... varad

[astha called out to varad ]

Varad ; yes astha...

Astha : when is shlok coming back?

Varad : I don't know astha... he is still in Punjab with his parents.. maybe he will comeback by next week. Our exams are starting after two weeks.

Astha : okay varad.. thanks bye

Varad : bye astha
