Epilogue

Astha woke up to the annoying sound of her alarm.

Astha : subhah ho gayi??? Oh my god!!! Get up astha... you need to finish up your packing

[astha hurried out of her bed, took her shower and started packing rest of her things. As the time for her flight was getting close she was feeling some strange sensations in her tummy. oh come on astha you are going back to your aayi baba its not that bad? What if I see shlok? What's the big deal? He must have moved on long back. There is a fair chance of him married by now. Exactly, he has moved on, but I have not. What if I see him with his wife? What if his wife is pregnant? What if he already has a kid? bappa help me survive.]

Soon astha was at the airport ready to board her plane. She was still nervous but she decided to concentrate on meeting her family. Soon she was inside the plane. Astha had got the window seat. And was now sitting comfortably. After sometime a heavily pregnant women came to her side and smiled at her. Astha smiled back and helped her sit down.

Astha : are you travelling alone?

Lady : oh yeah iam.

Astha : oh!

Lady : hey my husband was coming with me but his ticket was rejected moments before we were coming to the airport. It is some technical issues. He can get into the next plane available. But I have to go in this. Because my whole family is expecting me there. And they will be heartbroken if we cancel it now. Its just a 3 hour journey. So its no big deal.

Astha : yeah of course. Am astha by the way.

[astha extended her hand towards the women. She took it and smiled at astha]

Lady: hey am anitha.

[Their plane took off within a couple of minutes. It was a smooth journey as astha and anitha talked about their family and other random things. Things were going fine but it took a turn when there was hardly 20 minutes for landing. Anitha cried in pain. Help was called but they couldn't figure out what was happening. There was no other way than to wait till the plane landed. Anitha was crying very badly with pain. Astha was shocked and she dint have any idea on what she should do. She calming anitha down but, it was not helping her in any way. But she continued with what she was doing. Anitha was asking astha weather her baby will be fine or not, even though she was not sure about it, astha kept on saying everything will be fine. After what it felt like an eternity the plane landed in pune (if there is no airport in pune, just imagine there is) anitha was rushed outside on a stretcher, but she didn't let go of astha's hands. When they where coming out astha saw her parents, the rushed towards her]

Astha : aayi, baba

Avdooth : astha what's all this?

Astha : hard to explain. But I have to go with her baba. Go see that officer. [astha pointed out to a lady.] she will hand over my things to you. Am going to the city hospital. I'll come home once everything is fine. And I'll call you once we get to the hospital

[and with that she entered the ambulance that was waiting. after around 30 minutes they reached the hospital, anitha was rushed to the operation theater. After almost an hour later a doctor came out, astha stood up from the chair.]

Doc : are you the one who came with her?

Astha : yes I am. How is she?

Doc : she and the baby both are fine. It was a false alarm. Due to her anxiety. It happens to most of the first timers.

Astha : oh thank god. Her family will be here in a few minutes I guess. They created some issues at airport for not informing them earlier. So they are with the police now. But soon will be here.

Doc : its okay. I know her family. So you are good go.

Astha : oh. Really. Well that's good then. Can I see her?

Doc : of course. She's awake. Go in.

Astha : thank you doctor.

Doc : oh I should thank you. Nobody does these things these days. You supported her well. She was saying your name all the time.

Astha : so I'll go meet her then.

Doc : yeah. Sure. Go ahead.

[astha went inside. Anitha was smiling at her.]

Astha : hey. How are you feeling ?

Anitha : feeling fine. No more pain.

Astha : that's good to hear. Well your family coming soon.

[that's when they heard the door of the room opening. It was anitha's family. They bombarded anitha and astha with all the questions. Astha didn't get any of them. She tried to explain things. And after a long try everyone was calm. But the it was then they all started crying. Everyone was hugging astha, thanking her. And after a long time astha got herself out of the room. She called her parents from a pay phone. Avdoot insisted on coming to pick her up, but she refused saying that she wanted to travel own her own, see all the places she missed. Avdoot agreed on a condition that she won't go anywhere else, and would come directly to home. Astha was walking out of the hospital when she heard somebody calling her name out. It was a familiar voice. Memories flooded into astha's head, things were moving slow for her, tears formed in her eyes.]

Astha : sojal?

[astha turned around, time just stopped for her, there stood sojal with a wide grin on her face, and then someone walked out from her back, varad, both of them stood there smiling at her. Astha didn't knew what to say. She ran all her way towards them and pulled both of them into a bone crushing hug. Astha didn't knew how long she stood there.]

Sojal : astha... cant breath

Astha : oh god am... am so sorry guys. Couldn't control.

Sojal : that's what happens when you don't come to see your friends for so many years. So its completely alright.

Varad : unless you came with a strategy to choke my wife and my unborn child to death with your hug!

[varad said with a huge smile on his face.]

Astha : oh varad am not gonna kill your wife and... wait a minute what? Sojal are you pregnant?

Sojal : no he's having a child out of our neighbor. Of course am pregnant stupid. How else he's gonna have a baby?

Astha : oh god! Guys this is so good.

Varad : it is!

Astha : we need to celebrate!

Sojal : sure. Varad lets go to the cafeteria here. I am starving by the way.

[sojal grabbed astha's hand and headed towards the cafeteria.]

Varad : that you always are!

Sojal : am pregnant does not mean I can't hear anything!

Varad : oops! Sorry!

[astha laughed at their cuteness. They talked a lot while having there meal. And finally astha decided to take it out]

Astha : how is shlok?

Sojal : shlok? He is fine. His family is planning to get him married soon! His mother is totally into bride hunting these days.

Astha : oh!

Varad : and shlok just needs someone with a stable income!

Astha : why?

Varad : oh, he has started his own add agency now, its in the beginning stage, so the income is not stable, so you know, now that his dad is retired and all, he just wants a safety for his parents and nothing else.

Astha : where is he now?

Varad : oh he must be at marine drive now. There is a photo shoot coming up. He is there to take some pictures I guess!

Astha : oh. Grat. I should go then. My parents will be waiting. So bye. I'll come to see you guys soon. Okay!

Sojal ; okay! But remember one thing if you don't come and meet us... we will come to you. What else can we do anyways1 go now! I'll see you soon.

[astha almost ran towards the exit. The news that shlok is not yet married was a great relief for her. As soon as she was out of the hospital gates she took a taxi.]

Astha : bhaiyya marine drive chaliye please. Jaldi huh!

[all the way towards the marine drive astha kept thinking about all the happy moments they spend together. Tears were running down her cheek. Astha ran out of the car when it came to a halt. And throw enough money into car for the fair. Astha did not know where to look. But someone inside her head was telling her that she is going the right way. She was feeling that shlok was somewhere close. As she kept on running she saw some flashes go off. Astha increased her pace. Suddenly her feet's were not moving. Like she was stuck to the ground. There stood shlok in a midnight blue shirt and cream color pants. Oh god he was still so damn handsome. Astha pulled up all the courage left in her, gulped down a knot that had formed inside her throat. She saw shlok moving, was he leaving? No no no no. not today. But she was relieved when he sat down on a bear by bench. Astha quickly walked towards him and stood behind his bench ]

Astha : are you waiting for someone?

[shlok's world stopped the moment he heard that voice. He stood up and turned around, only to stare at a smiling astha.]

Astha : hey!

Shlok : astha?

Astha : glad to know you still remember my name!

[a slight pain washed over shlok's face, which did not go un noticed by astha. She felt squeeze in her heart]

Shlok : I can never forget!

Astha : so what are you doing here?

Shlok : I should be the one asking that!

Astha : oh! Is your job done here?

Shlok : yes! Why?

Astha : can we go our college?

Shlok : now?

Astha : yes!

Shlok ; astha its vacation time. There is nobody out there.

Astha : I know! Please shlok! Just once.

Shlok : you sure about this?

Astha : never been so sure about anything!

Shlok : okay then lets go!

[they walked towards the car park and got into shlok's car. The drive to college was silent. Both of them didn't have any idea on what to say.]

Shlok ; hmm... astha? We are here!

Astha : oh1 okay.

[both of them got out of the car. And walked towards the main campus. They could hear voices, they saw themselves and their other friend running around. Both were so lost, that they didn't realize that they have reached the basketball court. Astha gasped a little, remembering what happened here. Shlok looked at her, and held his head low in shame. He walked foeward. He turned aroud as he heard astha speak]

Astha : I earn 30,000 per month!

Shlok ; what? [he was confused as to why she was sayin it to him]

Astha : I said I earn 30,000 per month. Is that enough?

Shlok : for what? [he asked, confusion clear in his face]

Astha ; to pass your condition, to-be-your-wife

[shlok was feeling dizzy now, what was she saying? What did that mean?]

Shlok : I don't understand?

Astha : I saw varad and sojal today. And they said that that you are looking for a wife who has a stable income! So is 30,000 okay?

[a huge grin started to form on shlok's face.]

Shlok : enough? That's plenty!

[he ran towards astha! And pulled her into a hug. Astha hugged him back. They both kept hugging like their life depended on it. But the hug was broken, when astha's phone rang. It was her dad]

Astha : baba ka phone he. [then she picked it up] hello baba!

Avdoot ; astha kaha ho tum?

Astha : am coming home baba. Just 10 minutes. And I'll be there. Oh and baba I think you should stop looking for grooms. I'll tell you why when I reach home. Okay bye.

[astha then looked up at shlok]

Shlok : I think I should tell aayi stop her search too

[saying this shlok snaked his arms around astha's waist pulled her up a bit and crashed his lips on to hers. Astha kissed him back with equal passion. Love has no limits, it does not go with time, actually it strengthens with time. True love will always find its way to our heart. If it fails one time it gets reloaded!]

I am glad to see this happy ending because i was doubting u seeing ur mood last time 😆😆😆😆but relieved now and yeah missing our naina sooo much...she is really a sweetheart😳😳😳
