Hey! I am fairly new to the TP forum (quite old to IF though 😆 ) and this is like my first discussion here. I thought that after my previous experience, I wouldn't be posting in the forum, but I couldn't seem to control myself and here I am.
Okay, I must admit that before reading your post, just by reading your title of the topic, I told myself "No, I don't agree with that" but then I read your post, and my view changed a bit. Not much, but a bit. And that's good I guess. It's always nice to read varying perspectives, it also helps you to get insight into things too 😃
After reading your entire post, I agree with you on some points. I do agree that Tanya is being given too much focus and screen space and at times it gets frustrating but I also do think that it's for a reason. We all know that she has a limited time span in the show and I guess for Anshuman to realise Paakhi's real worth and his love for her and more than that, for US to believe that Paakhi is better than Tanya and that the latter is just not the right person, it's important that they show Tanya gambling into manipulative and wrong doings. Or else, how will we even judge whether Tanya is a better life partner for him or Paakhi? Also, unknowingly and unintentionally, she's just going to play a cupid we know 😆 The point being, her presence is important because even though her ways are completely wrong, her motive is not so much. She just loves him (might be infatuation or lust or anything but atleast that's what's being shown) and wants to have him at any cost. So at once, you might even understand where she's coming from but it's her wrong ways that convince you that she's not the correct person for him. That is where the difference between Tanya and Paakhi lies. They both love him, but the definition and aspects for both of them vary.
As for Anshuman, I however don't think that he's been inconsistent. I mean, yes ok I agree that he contemplated the difference between Tanya and Paakhi in few episodes and hasn't done it since long but we also need to remember that Tanya has a big part to play in that. She has been continously brainwashing him against Paakhi and creating circumstances where he's bound to react the way he does. Also, let's not forget his big fat EGO 😆 The whole thing is happening because of his ego, and if he's in this state it is also because of his ego. He's not a bad human being but when he's not even allowing himself to tell the truth to Paakhi for his image and ego but instead is just bearing her, then how do you expect him to even accept that he's feeling something for her? Even if he wants to, his ego won't let him. That's the gist of his character IMO. He obviously feels bad for her and he knows he's wrong, he even knows that Paakhi is an amazing woman but he will not say it because he puts his ego above everything else and that's what Paakhi is going to break eventually. I feel like, it's too early for him to even show signs of falling in love or something. It needs to be powerful, gradual and heartfelt. He needs to embrace Paakhi's existence in his life. He needs to understand how much she has changed him and his surroundings. He needs to realise that he's getting drawn towards him and I'd rather have it done gradually than suddenly. I hope I am making sense 😆
This is getting too long but I just want to say that I totally agree about Lavanya. I feel like that's a very immature way of getting things done. I have a feeling that Paakhi will eventually mend their relationship too. Let's see.
