It can be both reasons actually. I guess its different for every person. But you get such an expensive dress for your wedding day and you just wear it once and then it gets wasted, so people decide to keep it for their daughters...

yeah...I guess. I am not a hugely in favor of the saving thing though. There's an entire generation gap between the mother and daughter. It's one thing to use that dress by cutting it to design a new dress but a completely different thing to use the dress as it as for the daughter's wedding. Like in DeD for example, Arjumand's dress looked okay on her cuz it reflected the 80s ka style and the same looks horrendous on Farah cuz 2010s mein KON aisi dress pehenta hai? Fashion challenged log

Old trends keep coming back😆
id rather just give the dress to someone else rather than keep it for the next generation or throw it away...it could be used by someone else who cant afford to buy one

Usually these days people wear their wedding outfits for other ppls wedding they are designed in a way that it can be worn non bridal way which is great and saves u a outfit that would otherwise be never worn. My aunt wore her wedding dress to her bros and i know many who have worn their dress at others weddings. That duppatta and jewelry looked really bad on farah poor thing is already scared and on top of that she has to wear that ugly outfit lol.

Lol it does give the 50 shades vibe but it's not like 50 shades. You should check out the book, it's amazing. I'm obsessed with it.
