Thankyou mili for the tag .
Exactly my mind .
Was expecting a mature love story . The starcast too was perfect for it . But right now dont know what they are showing . Slowly its taking the usual ITV track .
Mili,
I didn't even watch this week's episodes. I was engrossed in YKS, totally in love with the characters and in a rush to see how the story will unfold and conclude.
I kept reading and hearing about Tere Bin leading me to watch the show! I am already on ep 4! It's not as beautiful and soulful as YKS but it is entertaining.
Entertainment is what is missing from KA! I think that all of us mostly watch out of habit. It's true that they didn't deliver on what they had promised.
Maybe you should start watching Tere Bin for some dhoom tana moments š¤
Good morning. I have a surprise chunk of time this morning, even though I am busy. No excusesš¤£
Lol š thank you for choosing to be here!
The story is too boring for me as of now. I have no idea what we are watching. In my mind, I signed up for an angst filled love story, dur-dur tak kuch aisa nahin dikh rahaš²
Strength in numbers and all that, you are not alone! Quite a few of us are bored, i am thoroughly bored. I donāt see the point, if there is one, of this story at all. The discussion or the rants are more fun š¤©.
I didn't want to watch chota Viaan becoming a bada, mature Viaan. Instead, I wanted to watch how Katha-Viaan overcome their past, how they assimilate that into their current equation, how do they make chota Aarav come to terms with having another man in the house, how Papa G learns to support his " beti". They have enough material to fill up this mature love-story.
@bold, that would be the logical way to go? But this is not about logic. So, what to do?!!! Other than feeling utterly gobsmacked š¶?
But, there seems to be no focus on the love story. It is now all about Viaan and his coming of age. Katha just comes in here and there to give him her pearls of wisdom, as if her life is a bed of roses and she is an authority at everything Viaan's life and emotions relatedš¤¢She is his Mrs. Google/ chatGPT without even looking up. She jumps in and exactly knows what he is struggling with and gives him advice about whatever is bothering him.
Is there a love story? š¤¦āāļø Between the poetry that just rolls out at all odd times and the constant frown, where is the time? I donāt notice the dhak dhak. Or sense it. Or see how it can happen. May be a compromise of sorts, the two get married and continue with the poems and frowns.
@bold, other than Katha giving advise, and Viaan saying you always help me, nothing else happens between the two. Why was she telling him not to lie to an 8 year old? The writers canāt seem to think of any other way to show Viaan and Katha together. Does this in any way look or feel like chemistry? Even Viaan has stopped sensing Katha around of late, just goes to show how boring this is.
And why is Katha the only one staying back at work so late? Why doesnāt she want to take papa Gās car? What does she have to prove to anyone? And, can't help but ask, who sells their house along with a land line? How did Seema Dutta manage to leave her trail by selling her house and her land line to whoever that lady is?
Never heard of it. But then socho, if Viaan didnāt make that call, how could he trace her? So many episodes would have gone into Viaan missing from work and driving all over town and that would be a nightmare to watch. So this is better Mili. It makes no sense, but at least the two met and he left with no answers. Big, big mystery here. What will he do next? š¤Ø
Please don't get me wrong, I have no qualms if the show is advertised as such, ki yeh Viaan ki kahaani hain, how he overcame betrayal by his dad and we would be in the mind set. Ab toh, looks like the new dhamaka is going to be that dad is an innocent baccha and Teji is the villainš. May be she stole Viaan from the dusri biwi or she is the dusri biwišš·š¤”Canāt wait to see how they will have us believe thisš Teji stealing Viaan or being the dusri biwi is possible? Easier to believe given how much she rolls those š
Suddenly Aarav becomes this kid who is stressing over his grades and we( the bad Indian parentsš) are getting some lessons on not pressurizing the kids and that effort and intent matters. I have yet to see an 8yr old who is stressing like this, and not the parents who are asking woh chapter 7 ka 8th problem review kar liyaSahi hain, I would have appreciated it, if this is the only lesson we are getting. But, looks like there is either a writer or a director who wants to preach us some random things- color blindedness the most esoteric of the lessons.
@bold, what was that? My North Indian friend agrees with this, she canāt understand what all the fuss is about! But what does this have to do with the story? Why was it necessary? Next week we will get to see Viaan telling Batman he will speak to the teacherā¦ errā¦. š¤ š¤Æ
Now Seema Dutta is clueless and asking who Raghuvanshi? Are they going to bring an amnesia or dementia to add tadka?š¤¢ Maybe Teji somehow is responsible for thisš¤¢ And that is why Seema disappeared without a trace fearing for her and her daughter's lifeš·But didn't she talk to Vanya on her interview day and had some deep, conversations bordering on avenging something? May be that is why Vanya is babying the motherš¤¢ and will have her own revenge story. I am glad she is not a female version of Viaan- all men are pigheaded idiots who use and throw womenšAnd doesn't have a chain love-hate story with Ehsan I know I am being very goofy, but for the life of me, I don't understand what I am watching.
This is really, really weird. She can think of getting water but cannot recognize the name? I donāt know why Vanya is checking so much on the mother. Foot, food, etc. What is the mystery? Why the mystery? May be because this is not a love story, it is about family matters. It begins to make a bit of sense if I look at it that way. Otherwise, even I donāt understand what I am watchingā¦.
Watching mostly, so I can take part in these discussions in the forumšLove these discussions more than anything.

Exactly Mango, what has Katha got to do with how Viaan comes of age? š¤¢
The jokeās on us š³š³ or in some parallel world, this is love ā¤ļø š the dhak dhak, the full works.
Why are the story tellers not worried about how a kid like Aarav who had idolized his dad ( as he should ) will fare with his mother bringing another man into the house? They are making it seem like Aarav would do anything to bring this " woman" who Viaan fancies. How does a kid like Aarav think so deeply about these adult relationships?
Something is not normal here, I understand he wants to help his friend for a change, but this? Canāt he get parathas or some such thing?
How does Katha ever reconcile with a man who propositioned her in exchange for money? I mean she understands his boo-hoo story, but is that enough?š¤¢ Like koi mujhe zor se thappad marein and then tells me that they are having an incredibly bad day and the emotions just spilled outš”, I will be OK with that? I might understand if the sob story is credible, but what about my humiliation? I simply don't understand how and why they are letting go of this incredible subject they have to keep us hooked to the show.
This is the strangest part of the story. Both have moved on. Only we are stuck. Even more strange is how Viaan went from apology to sharing to falling in love to āconfessingā his love to prancing around. And hoping and wanting Katha to reciprocate. Why? Did he initiate a heart-to-heart talk to understand how deeply he hurt her? To understand his arrogant behavior?
Mujhe aur bhi groveling chahiye thi, from Viaan. Instead, I am getting how he is going to absolve his dad's actions and in the end, he could be asking " mein kaun hoon, kahaan se aaya hoon" and we will be asking ourselves the sameš”š¤”š·
I am terrified this will happen, followed by Kathaās life lessons.
It seems like whatever he believes to be the truth about his sob story may be a lie and his mom's angst which he cajoled for so long is also a lie. If they don't watch it, Viaan might come across as a total nincompoop in the endš·acting on assumptions of a chota Viaan . And to top it all, his mom is the one who pulled wool on his eyesš¤¢Even if I don't care that much for Teji, I don't want Teji's humiliation of being an abandoned woman to be completely nullified and the guy who engaged with two women and corrupted his offsprings' emotions ( Viaan and Vanya ) is a pure soulš¤¬ More and more, yeh toh Viraaj R ki Katha ankahee lag rahi hainš¤¬ I will throw a huge tantrum if this is so.
Totally crazy isnāt it? Yet this is what Viaan is thinking now. From which angle does it make sense? And how does this help him heal? I canāt wait for this track to end, even though Viaan thinks he will become really cool and attractive to Katha once this is resolved. At the most he might go from poems to singing and dancing at random times. That is crazy, not cool.

mili -- had a good laugh at your post. especially the highlighted bits in the beginning. most of us pretty much signed up for the drama thinking it will be all intense. that is what they promised us in the promos.
nothing in the promo said it was going to be a daily drama entry of our bachelor neighbour. š¤£
the drama is about how these two overcome their past and forge a future together -- it is meant to be a wrestling of emotions and personalities. they are supposed to have intense love hate relationship where they repel but also strongly attracted to each other. lets not forget the dizi was highly popular wherever it aired.
but makers have been pushing the whole one night stand under the carpet like it barely happened. katha is super nonchalant about spending the night with someone as in her mind, it was justified. and now viaan has gone through guilt and therefore redeemed super quickly. by truly not addressing the one night stand and all its implications, they bleached the drama of drama. pity really.
@bold, I wonder why? Do they think itās too sensitive a subject for the audience? Nothing about how this was dealt with seems convincing- not Kathaās getting over it or Viaanās guilt. What happened to her outrage? Did it dissolve completely once she heard about his past? Why should his past justify his present actions?

hahahaha... pass! I tried watching tere bin and got so mad that I had to drop it for my sanity. I hated the ML and pretty much everyone one in this cuckoo family who is forcing a girl to get married. UGH. I am watching mere ban jao which is a smaller show but I think much more socially relevant. check it out if you have time and we can randomly chat away -- this forum does have a chatting corner too. :)
I skipped less this week but only because of the teasing of masala here with seema and vanya. if they mess that up, then I will end up skipping episodes again.

audience these days are well aware there are all sorts of attitudes. so people who use hookup apps are often quite blase and nonchalant about it. for them, one night stand is all just part of metro life. then there are those who are conservative for whom one night stand is flawed and then there are those in the middle (neither conservative or modern) who have mixed feels about it and would want physical relations within the context of a relationship.
their character graphs show both katha and viaan as serious earnest people and not the types to just hook up for the sake of hooking up. so it feels a bit strange that the one night stand has not been addressed in more detail and that it no longer seems to impact them. it seems we are just supposed to take it at face value -- katha does not feel anything because she did it to save her son and viaan has apologized and therefore free.
but if the makers had simply addressed the one night stand instead of burying it, both katha and viaan would come across as a mix of conservative and modern and their struggle would have actuallly been felt by viewers.
we would have gotten the intensity we saw in the intial series promos. oh well.
Hey Mili, I felt FL in OG was easily forgiving her in-laws and ML, which I didn't like at all. Also FL was running away from the ML at every opportunity only for the ML to question her commitment to their relationship at the end. I am glad they have changed it in here and hoping for kathaa to be there with Viaan always.
Agree the drama is gone, the excitement to watch the episodes is lost for meš„ŗ
I'm passing time cursing over the FBs, slo-mos, evil protagonist antics in the other serial, unfortunately here IMO we are not even provided that respite.
This has to be the story of kathaa untold, but who has made an impact in the life of Viaan Raghuvanshi. So it's Viaan's POV but Katha's story, god knows shrikhand kab rasogulla ho gayaš¤Ŗ š¤£
in the dizi, the FL really struggled with the one night stand implications. she couldn't believe she sold herself and was never at ease with it. so even though she fell in love with him, she still struggled with accepting that she has feelings for a man who made such a sleazy request. so even though ML kept trying to show her he had changed, a part of her had a tough time letting go of that moment.
at least based on the katha promos initially (that I had shared here), I really thought we will see similar type repel and attract. that is what the promos hinted at. for some reason, we are getting something else altogether. š¤·

kushi -- yea, I am not sure why we are not getting any dhak dhak moments at all. is it because we are used to seeing the tropes play out in a certain way? are the poems supposed to stand in and induce dhak dhak. do the makers think mature love story means no dhak dhak? I don't know.....
but yea, I have been wondering the same on why katha is always working late. wasn't she the one who negotiated for a better work life balance? and yet, she is always late and it is dodo who is taking care of the house. free cook, free housekeeper and free babysitter!!!
and no idea, why she doesn't want to take papaG's car -- guess we are meant to see her as independent but is taking stuff from family a bad thing? š¤·
