Hahaha…Mango…today for a change we are almost on the same page 😆!!
Never thought I would say this, but it’s too much realism/ mundane stuff which is slowly killing the show. The actors are still top notch, the basic premise is still good, but the treatment has become the problem. Nothing really new has happened in terms of story telling since the confession except for Batman Robin revelation, which fell flat cause there was no real windfall from it. They introduced Vanya but that arc is also not providing much conflict or excitement atm. We are finally getting the much needed angst around Viaan’s childhood trauma but that has been reduced to Katha walking up to him again and again to lecture him on moving on.
While Katha herself has been stuck in the exact same space with no real progression since the last 2-3 weeks now. She oscillates between ‘mujhe Mr. R se effect nahin hona hai’ to then go right ahead and do exactly that..interfere in his personal space. And then frown & fret that his self expression makes her uncomfortable😅😅!! Pacing of the show is an issue. The show needs some excitement and suspense now😁!! Actually, I would not mind even your Mr. Pyramid stirring things up a bit for now🤣🤣!!
We need to be wondering what will happen next to want to tune in everyday! They are watering down all the negative characters of the show. Viaan’s internal conflict on his trauma should have been more edgy. It’s sad cause Adnan is actually doing such a fab job these days…just wish the writing and direction was able to support him in a way that made the proceeding more interesting.
Add to that the fact that the discerning audience for whom the drama is meant is more attuned to the OTT platform of instant gratification era. There is no stretching on OTT and story telling is far more crisp and edgy. Before the EK era, such regular story telling might have worked. Realistic drama can only work in small doses of 2 or 2.5 hr movies that too for very niche audiences.
I will watch it till I care for the characters & there are flashes of brilliance in terms of acting and writing here and there. I will take this via a vis an Anupama anyway. But after Katha I have started watching an episode of The Diplomat to get my dose of entertainment😆😆!
I love the diplomat!🤣
Netflix was made for people like me!
Anyway, if you want a show which touches your soul, pulls at your heart strings, where the story is the main character and the pace flows smoothly, watch Yakeen Ka Safar. I am grateful to Columbia for recommending it to me.
Like some have written here, KA is still better than most shows. But it was very easy for me to put it on pause.
I love the diplomat!🤣 It’s so much fun…am half way through 😁

Ditto…infact daily soaps are not my scene😅!!

Thanks for the recco…will try it out😊!

Oh..yes! I would still pick it up any day compared to anything else on ITV. My tolerance level for EK kind of shows & excessive melodrama is extremely low🤣

Thanks for the tag Mango. I was binging a series on Amazon prime. Teen detective story. Some thrash & some good parts. Will catch up on KA soon. From what I have watched, it was watchable. Unsure how it is now. Been almost a week since i watched any serial.
I haven't watched it for quite sometime and also not checking forums too ,so no idea of what is happening around
Good morning. I have a surprise chunk of time this morning, even though I am busy. No excuses🤣
The story is too boring for me as of now. I have no idea what we are watching. In my mind, I signed up for an angst filled love story, dur-dur tak kuch aisa nahin dikh raha😲
I didn't want to watch chota Viaan becoming a bada, mature Viaan. Instead, I wanted to watch how Katha-Viaan overcome their past, how they assimilate that into their current equation, how do they make chota Aarav come to terms with having another man in the house, how Papa G learns to support his " beti". They have enough material to fill up this mature love-story.
But, there seems to be no focus on the love story. It is now all about Viaan and his coming of age. Katha just comes in here and there to give him her pearls of wisdom, as if her life is a bed of roses and she is an authority at everything Viaan's life and emotions related🤢She is his Mrs. Google/ chatGPT without even looking up. She jumps in and exactly knows what he is struggling with and gives him advice about whatever is bothering him.
And, can't help but ask, who sells their house along with a land line? How did Seema Dutta manage to leave her trail by selling her house and her land line to whoever that lady is?
Please don't get me wrong, I have no qualms if the show is advertised as such, ki yeh Viaan ki kahaani hain, how he overcame betrayal by his dad and we would be in the mind set. Ab toh, looks like the new dhamaka is going to be that dad is an innocent baccha and Teji is the villain😈. May be she stole Viaan from the dusri biwi or she is the dusri biwi😈🐷🤡
Suddenly Aarav becomes this kid who is stressing over his grades and we( the bad Indian parents😒) are getting some lessons on not pressurizing the kids and that effort and intent matters. I have yet to see an 8yr old who is stressing like this, and not the parents who are asking woh chapter 7 ka 8th problem review kar liyaSahi hain, I would have appreciated it, if this is the only lesson we are getting. But, looks like there is either a writer or a director who wants to preach us some random things- color blindedness the most esoteric of the lessons.
I have to turn around and say though, that I like the lessons related to architecture where they give a soul to what I assumed is a hard and heartless science🤡
Now Seema Dutta is clueless and asking who Raghuvanshi? Are they going to bring an amnesia or dementia to add tadka?🤢 Maybe Teji somehow is responsible for this🤢 And that is why Seema disappeared without a trace fearing for her and her daughter's life🐷But didn't she talk to Vanya on her interview day and had some deep, conversations bordering on avenging something? May be that is why Vanya is babying the mother🤢 and will have her own revenge story. I am glad she is not a female version of Viaan- all men are pigheaded idiots who use and throw women😔And doesn't have a chain love-hate story with Ehsan I know I am being very goofy, but for the life of me, I don't understand what I am watching.
Watching mostly, so I can take part in these discussions in the forum😃Love these discussions more than anything.
Overall, looks like I am watching my neighbor's day to day life. When I am complaining there is no spice in your story, they are trying to add some tadka to last week's biryani👎🏼🤔
Sorry, no coherent thoughts just like the story. Tagging a few, force-feeding my nonsense😳........Not to be a Debbie downer to those of you liking the story😳
MilI!!!! This show has been boring for some time for me now. That being said, I think this step mom and half sis track can be very spicy if they do it right but I don’t have many expectations from this show anymore. I started watching this show for the love story but I don’t see that anywhere so I have stopped putting so much of my mind into this show. Would have dropped completely by now if I wasn’t on this forum. And the plots don’t even flow well. Like first we had meera drama and all of a sudden she disappeared, then we had shamita drama and that ended as well so it just looks like they are putting small mini stories in the form of one big drama while none of these stories are really interconnected to add something to the OG plot.

mili -- had a good laugh at your post. especially the highlighted bits in the beginning. most of us pretty much signed up for the drama thinking it will be all intense. that is what they promised us in the promos.
nothing in the promo said it was going to be a daily drama entry of our bachelor neighbour. 🤣
the drama is about how these two overcome their past and forge a future together -- it is meant to be a wrestling of emotions and personalities. they are supposed to have intense love hate relationship where they repel but also strongly attracted to each other. lets not forget the dizi was highly popular wherever it aired.
but makers have been pushing the whole one night stand under the carpet like it barely happened. katha is super nonchalant about spending the night with someone as in her mind, it was justified. and now viaan has gone through guilt and therefore redeemed super quickly. by truly not addressing the one night stand and all its implications, they bleached the drama of drama. pity really.
ahh I love this promo. Idk what I am watching in this show anymore but it's definitely not the same show as this promo. The Viaan in this promo was supposed to be the Viaan we were supposed to get but they've turned him into a fuddu following Katha's advice on everything. I am convinced he has lost all his marbles and as people have righty said, this show really teaches you not to fall in love haha.Originally posted by: mango.falooda

Exactly Mango, what has Katha got to do with how Viaan comes of age? 🤢
Why are the story tellers not worried about how a kid like Aarav who had idolized his dad ( as he should ) will fare with his mother bringing another man into the house? They are making it seem like Aarav would do anything to bring this " woman" who Viaan fancies. How does a kid like Aarav think so deeply about these adult relationships?
How does Katha ever reconcile with a man who propositioned her in exchange for money? I mean she understands his boo-hoo story, but is that enough?🤢 Like koi mujhe zor se thappad marein and then tells me that they are having an incredibly bad day and the emotions just spilled out😡, I will be OK with that? I might understand if the sob story is credible, but what about my humiliation? I simply don't understand how and why they are letting go of this incredible subject they have to keep us hooked to the show.
Mujhe aur bhi groveling chahiye thi, from Viaan. Instead, I am getting how he is going to absolve his dad's actions and in the end, he could be asking " mein kaun hoon, kahaan se aaya hoon" and we will be asking ourselves the same😡🤡🐷
It seems like whatever he believes to be the truth about his sob story may be a lie and his mom's angst which he cajoled for so long is also a lie. If they don't watch it, Viaan might come across as a total nincompoop in the end🐷acting on assumptions of a chota Viaan . And to top it all, his mom is the one who pulled wool on his eyes🤢Even if I don't care that much for Teji, I don't want Teji's humiliation of being an abandoned woman to be completely nullified and the guy who engaged with two women and corrupted his offsprings' emotions ( Viaan and Vanya ) is a pure soul🤬 More and more, yeh toh Viraaj R ki Katha ankahee lag rahi hain🤬 I will throw a huge tantrum if this is so.
I haven't watched the original, but Mango from what you have been saying, it seems to be gripping. Why can't they have copied the same, instead of spoiling with too much of their own recipe?
@Raji....... forgot to tag you earlier😔
Hey Mili, I felt FL in OG was easily forgiving her in-laws and ML, which I didn't like at all. Also FL was running away from the ML at every opportunity only for the ML to question her commitment to their relationship at the end. I am glad they have changed it in here and hoping for kathaa to be there with Viaan always.
Agree the drama is gone, the excitement to watch the episodes is lost for me🥺
I'm passing time cursing over the FBs, slo-mos, evil protagonist antics in the other serial, unfortunately here IMO we are not even provided that respite.
This has to be the story of kathaa untold, but who has made an impact in the life of Viaan Raghuvanshi. So it's Viaan's POV but Katha's story, god knows shrikhand kab rasogulla ho gaya🤪 🤣
