they totally botched up viaan and aarav into some weirdo mess which is why rather than cute, it just looks dumb.

so it isn't that we don't know what we want -- we do. it is the makers who mess it all up! how can you have a show where there is no suspense or conflict?

otherwise, this show is like a diary entry: today, I went to work. today I ate dhal. now. I am going to sleep. you can't even recap this drama because nothing happens in most of the episodes in the week. 🤣

true exactly its like a diary only now. How to take interview. How handle work stress, how handle kid 😂 they have focused on every details.

I really miss old Viaan. And I like it but I don't love the episodes.

Yeah only thing I like is Viaan Ehsaan's bond. I really admire their friendship.❤️

Honestly I am missing old episodes I mean we couldn't skip a bit also. But now just Katha's lecture only.

What about Robin Batman ?

Ignored their track 🤔

the old viaan is what sucked us into the show and now he is disappeared. frankly adnan is doing his best but there is no edge to the character and so I am just bored watching him. saint viaan is not what I signed up for.

Hahaha…Mango…today for a change we are almost on the same page 😆!!

Never thought I would say this, but it’s too much realism/ mundane stuff which is slowly killing the show. The actors are still top notch, the basic premise is still good, but the treatment has become the problem. Nothing really new has happened in terms of story telling since the confession except for Batman Robin revelation, which fell flat cause there was no real windfall from it. They introduced Vanya but that arc is also not providing much conflict or excitement atm. We are finally getting the much needed angst around Viaan’s childhood trauma but that has been reduced to Katha walking up to him again and again to lecture him on moving on.

While Katha herself has been stuck in the exact same space with no real progression since the last 2-3 weeks now. She oscillates between ‘mujhe Mr. R se effect nahin hona hai’ to then go right ahead and do exactly that..interfere in his personal space. And then frown & fret that his self expression makes her uncomfortable😅😅!! Pacing of the show is an issue. The show needs some excitement and suspense now😁!! Actually, I would not mind even your Mr. Pyramid stirring things up a bit for now🤣🤣!!

We need to be wondering what will happen next to want to tune in everyday! They are watering down all the negative characters of the show. Viaan’s internal conflict on his trauma should have been more edgy. It’s sad cause Adnan is actually doing such a fab job these days…just wish the writing and direction was able to support him in a way that made the proceeding more interesting.

Add to that the fact that the discerning audience for whom the drama is meant is more attuned to the OTT platform of instant gratification era. There is no stretching on OTT and story telling is far more crisp and edgy. Before the EK era, such regular story telling might have worked. Realistic drama can only work in small doses of 2 or 2.5 hr movies that too for very niche audiences.

I will watch it till I care for the characters & there are flashes of brilliance in terms of acting and writing here and there. I will take this via a vis an Anupama anyway. But after Katha I have started watching an episode of The Diplomat to get my dose of entertainment😆😆!

100% such mundane stuff is killing the show. there is hardly any chatter because we have nothing to react to. we have already discussed everything else at length. so we just watch half alseep.

even viaan's trauma stuff in my opninon is done rather poorly. katha and viaan need to start having a real push pull. that will happen only if viaan snaps out of saint mode and goes back to viaan 1.0. in the previous episode, katha showed up for two minutes at roadside tea shop to give random lecture. how does viaan react. he is like those dutiful students who used to say in end of class -- "thank you teacher"

and to top it off, he says some random poem. ugh. what a bore. smiley37

now imagine if this was viaan 1.0. what would have happened? he would have told katha to F**** off and mind her own business. he would have asked her with what right she is interferring in his personal life when she has made it clear that she is not interested in him and what employee gives personal gyaan to their boss. he would have told her that she has no backing to give gyaan when she does not come from a background -- what does she know about the pain of a father leaving or the impact of cheating? he would have chewed her brain and then walked away. think how dhamaka that would have been to watch. that is what we need. 😆

I still like the show enough to tune in daily if not every other day and I haven't missed any episodes either.....that itself is an achievement considering most ITV shows lose steam in trying high voltage gimmicks for the sake of drama and then don't know where to go next.

Every show plateaus after a point, no matter how good. I feel this show plateaued with Viaan's love realization and the "woh mujhse baat karti hai" poem. That was the peak of the show and everything after that has been an exercise in adding episodes to continue the show without shaking things up too much. That is what other shows on ITV do as well but they do way worse things like forced leaps, seperations etc. to build up episode count and that ruins the essence of the characters. Here, the makers are building the episode count while drawing out the getting together phase of the leads. Is it perfect? Not really. But is it preferable to shows which do forced hate/MUs/leaps/seperations to extend a story? Absolutely this is preferable to that.

This show for me right now is like comfort food in the midst of endless mindless melodrama on ITV. I don't compare this to Netflix or other web platforms because those are anyways set up differently narrative wise. I evaluate this show in comparison to other ITV shows and it still wins by a large margin there.
