She just radiated selfishness. I don't know if she would have conveyed the insecurity behind the egoistic personality of Ruqaiya. You're right! She would have made a wonderful stepmother.

Sometimes she was played very immature and not like the royal born woman she was. She was raised as a royal princess to become the wife of the next emperor. She was supposed to have dignity. I missed that dignity. Dignity would have suited her better as a chief consort and stepmother than her constant sick childish jealousy. That really annoyed me about her character at times. Maybe the first actress would have played this better.
forgive me if I am hijacking this convo; I also was no fan of how Ruqaiya was portrayed, especially post!Suri. now, I do think Lavina Tandon is the better actress of the two. still, I hate how the writers made her Ruqs be portrayed as a petulant child throwing tantrums rather than as a queen of one of the most memorable empires in India's history.
the situation is further exacerbated by the absence of any records of Ruqs actively attempting to undermine the sultanate or Salim. in fact, she was responsible for caring for his son, Khurram. rivalry and jealousy would naturally occur, especially in a polygamous context intertwined with politics. these elements are almost inevitable in such settings. however, the portrayal of Ruqs' personality in the series was severely disappointing.
don't get me started on how she was willing to tarnish the reputation of the Mughal Sultanate all in a display of childish pettiness close to the end of the series.
I agree 100 %. Jodha was such a clever woman, skilled in swordplay and archery. In the later episodes after Salim's birth, she was portrayed as a weak woman. It was only at the end, when she went into the spice trade and saved Jalal, that she became the Jodha she was at the beginning.
Exactly, the track of the twins sharing , salim as a child and even benazir track portrayed her as a spineless woman, gone was the fiery princess who stood up for her dignity , I liked the track of the separation more than benazir track to be honest .. people here wrote better tracks than the script writers with more logical character development and sentiments .
You're right. I was totally annoyed by this attempt to discredit Jodha in her jealousy without thinking of the repercussions on the Mughal Sultanate! That was the icing on the cake! She only humiliated herself. I enjoyed every second of the angry Jodha and the well deserved slap 😁.
As you say, unfortunately there are no to less records of Ruqaiya and the other women of his harem in Akbar's reign.
Yes, I agree. The Benazir track was still okay. Here she was still allowed to use her wits. But after that... In the separation track, the writers came back to their senses. I also didn't like the way she swallowed every humiliation from Ruqaiya. She never put her in her place. Not until the end. To be honest, I didn't like the episodes after Salim's birth very much. In fact, there are much better tracks here
