Got giddy with all the partying !! Thank you Chokri_ASR for the perfect banner ..

Ek pyaar ka nagma hai... today was very special day to celebrate this very statement - the anniversary of Mr & Mrs Raizada - and it truly had been 3 years of love ...

When Anajli Di had once told him 'tumhari saasein ruk jaayengi' - Arnav Singh Raizada had scoffed at the very thought... circumstances had made him a very difficult person to read.. to understand.. even Anajli Di gave up on Chotey.. sometimes.

Lekin ek din pata chala Laad Governor ko ... pyaar kya hota hai .

He met his match in one Khushi Kumari Gupta.. now Singh Raizada - she refused to give up her full name and even insisted to use it in their kids names ( Some days she tortured him further.. threatening to even use Aloo & Poori).

Arnav was genuinely afraid, there would not be enough space on the registration form!

Theirs, was not a conventional love story - simply put they loved to hate each other. Literally one would run out of fingers to count on - for all they did to avoid each other.. but divine intervention from Devi Ma and a villain whom shall remain nameless, ensured the saying -
'Never the Twain Shall Meet' - was truly dammed'.

Lest we forget when they did meet Aman had 101 reasons to interrupt them !!

But as they say the past is the past - today Khushi was very happy as she sat on the chaise lounge, re-reading her mother in law's letter.

She had read it last year and the year before on their anniversary.

The paper and ink had faded over the years, however the words still resonated loudly and she knew them by heart..

Khushi had endured his anger and truly he had returned love tenfold.

Tonight, Khushi had a very special surprise for her husband, one she knew would make him very, very happy and that was all that mattered.

Arnav had a very special surprise for his wife too.. one he knew would make her very, very happy.

Retiring for the night after a celebratory meal with the family, both of them sat in their special place by the pool for their evening conversation with their parents in the starlit sky ...

Arnav reached behind him and presented a box to Khushi. Upon opening, nestled against a velvet cushion were her Amma's bangles .. the two very bangles that she thought she would never see again.

Her gasp and unshed tears, said it all.. she did not need to voice her gratitude

Remembering her surprise, Khushi reached behind her and presented to Arnav a box. Nestled on a deep red cushion sat her pregnancy test with two very bold lines. Arnav was speechless not even a ' What the' was uttered!

Today they became a family .. High above in the sky, three stars twinkled brightly ... ...

Zindagi aur kuch bhi nahin.. bas teri meri kahani hai..

My Lady has taken the step forward, and I couldn't be happier! Your comments have always left an impact on me, the way you are able to pick up on the depth of what a writer is trying to portray has left me in awe on several occasions, not just my stories, but many that we follow together.

And it is befitting that your first story has done the same. What you have given us a glimpse of, is the essence of what IPK was all about... the characters, the emotions, the actions, the main scenes and putting them together very eloquently. The cherry on top being your version of the ending for their future. One that we would all love to see possible.

A wonderful, lovely first story my Lady 👏... I am fida, bas!

Loved it and love you! 🤗

Sita, what a delightful surprise to read a story written by you.

Your 'kahaani' has the feel of a beautiful 'nagma' that makes you want to sit back and let it wrap itself around you. Allowing the melody to subsume your senses. And, as Rae said, it has the charm of your wit to bring a smile.

There is the sense of a quiet joy and satisfaction in doing something for the beloved simply because it will make them happy. Him bringing back her Ma ke kangan is what I had always wished they showed. Both of their mothers blessings circling her wrists.

You brought out the feeling of them being each other's 'kinaara' and 'sahaara' so well.

Waiting to read more :)

Such gentleness in this drabble. I love how alike they have become, searching for and looking after each other's happiness. And I have always found that gentleness fills the heart with the fuel to go on loving each day. It gives us the assurance of being in step with each other and the strength to face the hard times. After all she won him with her gentleness and softness of a spirit not corrupted by the pain and the hardship of suffering.
How beautiful that while she is reading her mother's in law letter, he is wrapping his mother's in law bangles for her. The past maybe in the past, but he is righting it to make a better present and future for her...

And what a future she is giving him...from one generation to the next, they are making their traditions come true: 2 pairs of bangles to be passed on to the next generation.

When I saw the episode about the contents of the letter and how his mother had hope in the goodness inside her son, I was reading a book that had a great expression. I thought it was apt for what he could promise her:

"I'm hard to love, but I love hard, like my heart is the sun yearning to tan your naked body. I promise I won't burn you.", J. Kintz

This quiet, gentle, tender and loving moment that gives the right justice to another part of the show, proves that the sunshine has been only loving.

Awww. That was very very cute. You've said a lot in a few words. The talk of the town is we might get to see the bangle scene, so...do you have psychic abilities, LadyR?

I am here... panting... holding on to my side... I am here...
Another tender moment... another gentle, tender rendition of the present... They did overcome almost unsurmountable barriers... the never seen yet omnipresent Aman included... It did seem like this was NOT meant to be at times... Yet they did... and here we are... sending all our wishes their way.

Very nice LadyR... The past will always stay in their subconcious... yet for all it's adversity, it will make them stronger... As you very aptly showed. Loved it! Thank you for sharing...

And Ruchi... thx for the rec!!!

How could I not?
---------------------

A song of love ... what a beautiful rendition Sita! Why am I not surprised that you wrote this piece with such beauty? Your comments have always reflected your ability to provide keen insight into the stories that are told here. I have often followed your trail and have stopped to read what you had written (often times only your comments).

And you say it again here, beautifully, the essence of what the show was for all of us. A retrospective that picked the defining moments of the show and the lead couple who, in many ways have inspired so many of us to pick up our pens.

What makes this so special is the elegance with which you have conveyed all that needs to be conveyed - the return of her Amma's bangles, bangles she gave up so he could find his love (in Lavanya)... and for those very bangles to return to her wrists along with his love for her? The bangles did their job didn't they? They did help him find his love in her.. :)

Beautifully done Sita.., May your pen wield more power and bring to life all those stories that lay buried in you.

So I understand this is your first piece of writing and you've so far been a reader/awesome comment-er? (Like Ruchi?) Doesn't seem like it though! 👏

The first time I read it, I was more disappointed with the length than anything else, honestly! Greedy me, I know! 🤔

Then I went back and read it again and boy! Chota packet bada dhamaka it was!!

What is it about these two that makes us want more? What is it about their relationship that leaves us breathless and blushing? You have done a beautiful job of giving us just a hint of their love 3 years later and a hint of their past and Arnav's redemption in bringing back her Amma's bangles and of course a hint of their future, which is glowing bright with only good things on the horizon.

Write more! You owe it to yourself and of course to readers like me! 😃

But for now, for this, take a bow!

Love,
Limon.

Sita, very beautifully written OS.

Happiness doubles when shared and sorrow becomes half when shared - so true.

He shared his demons, his sorrows with her and she spread happiness in his life!!!

Such a perfect ending with he bringing the blessings from the past and she showing the illumination of the future.

You should write more LadyRji.
