Hello and welcome to what is a virtual knockout as RCB take on DC at the Chinnaswamy. Both these teams started poorly in the tournament, but have been resurgent in the second half to somehow keep themselves in the race for the playoffs. However, it'll be the end of the road for the loser here. There has been some rain in Bangalore today. Let's hope we get a full game.

Karn Sharma key for RCB?

Apart from Fraser-McGurk, Tristan Stubbs has been crucial to DC's cause in the middle order. Both players have been dismissed five times combined against legspin in IPL 2024 despite having high strike-rates against it and so Karn Sharma could pick two very big wickets today.

If RCB win today…

IPL 2024, RCB vs DC Live Score, Royal Challengers Bengaluru vs Delhi Capitals: This will be their fifth consecutive win and runs like these can cause a big stir in the league table, regardless of what part of the season this is. The same can be said at this point. RCB's fate remains completely out of their hands but a win today puts all kinds of pressure on LSG, DC and CSK, regardless of what happens in the latter's game today.

Virat Kohli vs spin this year

Virat Kohli has a strike rate of 138,.8 this season against spin, his highest in the IPL in seven years.

McGurk in the powerplay

IPL 2024, RCB vs DC Live Score, Royal Challengers Bengaluru vs Delhi Capitals: One of the big reasons why DC are challenging for the top four this season instead of floundering away at the bottom of the table, which is what they were doing in the early part of the tournament, was their decision to bring in Jake Fraser-McGurk at the top of the order. The young Australian has taken powerplay hitting to a different level to what DC have been used to. He has scored a whopping 245 runs in just 96 balls in this period across seven innings. He boasts a strike rate of 255.2 and has a balls to boundary ratio of just two.

Virat Kohli motoring along

Virat Kohli scoring over 600 runs is nothing new. What is new, though, is his strike rate. He is going at 153.5, which our stats-man Nikhil Narain is his best for any season.

RCB's metamorphosis

IPL 2024, RCB vs DC Live Score, Royal Challengers Bengaluru vs Delhi Capitals: RCB come into this match on the back of four back-to-back wins. Since April 25, RCB have the highest run rate (11.6), the highest batting average (38.3), the best balls per boundary ratio (3.6), and have the most 50+ knocks by individual batters (7).

If you can control destiny, is it actually destiny? What if you can change it? What's more important, destiny being conceptually consistent or the ability to steer the thing you want to to the desired destination? For Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Delhi Capitals, the question is given shape by the precarious position where they stand and the potential opportunity to leap into the playoffs. DC have six wins to RCB's five and eight wins, of course, are better than seven for a team to qualify.

The inclusion of Jake Fraser-McGurk has served as a catalyst to turn things around for DC. He has set the stage on fire at the top with four blistering fifties in just 7 innings, and will once again be the focus of attention in a batting lineup that's going to be without Rishabh Pant who is serving a one-game suspension for slow over-rate. Among the bowlers, Axar Patel has stood out and is going at an economy rate of just 7.32 this season. The rest of them have also pulled their weight since DC went in the direction of an all-India attack in order to accommodate an extra overseas batter.
