MI 113 all out

Only second time MI have been bowled out and this also marks their second lowest score in WPL. A 43-run opening stand between Matthews and Sajana. What happened after that? Ellyse Perry happened. She put on an absolute clinic with the ball and tortured the woodwork with an array of nip-backers. After claiming an excellent catch to dismiss Mattthews, Perry wreaked havoc with the ball by bowling 4 overs on the trot that included the best-ever bowling show in the history of WPL. No wickets off her first 9 balls and 6 off her next 15. 4 bowled and 2 lbws. To summarize, it's arguably one of the best spell of bowling you'd ever witness in T20 cricket. Period. 114 runs and RCB will be through. Back in 10 for their reply with the bat...

RCB will knock the Warriorz out if they score at least 54. If they score 114, RCB will, of course, qualify, knocking the Giants out in the process. They have the momentum, and they will hope Mandhana and Molineux can further that early in the chase. Ismail will take the new ball, and she will have seen Perry cause damage in the first innings.

They say the stalwarts of the game find a way to stand up just when the big moments call. Today was a massive match for RCB, given their qualification hopes were still up in the air. And guess who stood up? Perry, who had not picked up a wicket all season, produced the best-ever figures in the WPL.

She kept attacking the stumps, with all of her wickets either coming via the lbw route or by hitting the stumps. All of those scalps were top-drawer, and broke the back of the MI innings. Asha, Molineux and Shreyanka were also among the wickets, ensuring that Mumbai were bundled out for a total below 120.

A pretty abject batting display by MI. They had a decent powerplay but crumbled under Perry's craft in the middle overs. Their shot-selection also left a bit to be desired, and things will have to change dramatically in the second innings if they are to keep their hopes of finishing at the top of the table, alive. Join us in a bit for the chase!

Matthews to Molineux, out Stumped!! Gone! 73.5kph, tossed up offie, Molineux shimmies down the track and decides to loft it over mid-on. Doesn't get anywhere close to the pitch of the ball and the ball spins past the outside edge. Priyanka Bala, on debut, collects the ball somehow and breaks the sticks to catch the batter short. Molineux st Priyanka Bala b Matthews 9(9) [4s-2]

Matthews to Molineux, THATS OUT!! Stumped!!
