Raja Hindustani was a superhit movie, but I don't know somehow its overall music by nadeem shravan in 1996 never really appealed to me.

This track is a typical "romantic" track tailormade for alkaji, fairly easy to sing, with her original scale being maintained throughout. But the tempo-is again-flat.
There is not much scope that she can do other than just add a bit of feel here and a bit of modulation thee, both of which are disguised in such a way that it is very difficult to make out.
But overall, its clean singing.

The background music can sometimes get boring and tedious, pretty much the trait of the mid 90s bolywood but of course, exceptions were there. And that does take a bit of a toll on variations of sur but alkaji has a clever talent of hiding that drawback, especially in the lines-mere dil me yun hi rehna, tum pyaar...banke, that line.
The words "rehna...haii" cleverly adds a bit of that variation and tries to hide some flaws that this plain jane track potentially had.

Overall, its like..ok, strictly just average overall. Just a typical alkaji song.

7/10.

I think it was more than a typical Alka Yagnik song. This song was a superhit, and I think it was one of her better works.

A lovely track, yet again!

Delicate voice, adhered well with the type of song. The innocence of the expressions is kept intact, but in slight few places I felt the romantic expressions could have been more pronounced. But also, there are certain places, where the expressions are perfect.

It is a relatively simpler song, no doubt. However, there is definitely 'the Alka beauty' which we look for. Pronunciation is good. The throw is apt according to the style of the song. Till the end, the singing retains its impact on the listener. The ad lib portion is beautiful. A decent performance.

I would like to give an 8 out of 10 to this performance.

Great singing by Alkaji!

I like the beginning. Though it could've gone a little better, it was actually pretty good and difficult to do. After that, it was a pretty easy tempo to sing in the main sequence, gets a little more difficult when "mera dil mein" part, but otherwise, still pretty good. Nice expression and feel given throughout.

And then she does a nice job with her voice again before heading to the post-main sequences. The post-main sequence overall also was really good, singing in some different pitches, nothing difficult, but just a good job done.

Overall, great singing. Nice voice quality as usual, great expressions and feel, the song would just not be what it is without her. Big reason it was a big hit. All throughout, great feel. Her singing was great in some places, but mostly it was just good. But just for that extraness, and great feel

I guess no matter how hard we try to bring out the best in her songs, she's just going to fall behind. :( Seeing some of these ratings on the poll are really sad, sorry to say. I mean what do you want? Guess she's not an audience favorite and I guess that has a lot to do with this competition! Audience favorites have an advantage!

Yes I agree this is a typical "Alka ji" song, but I think it was beautifully sung by her. She def brought the feel to the song with the perfect expressions.

I have sung this song on karaoke and realized it isn't that easy of a song to sing. The transitions between the higher notes and lower notes need a lot of focus. And Alka ji did just that. She maintained all her notes very well. Not the best as they could have been, but fairly well enough! I felt just a slight of a little strain with her higher notes, but it wasn't that much of a problem! The difficulty level was somewhere in the middle; not that high in difficulty but neither was it that low.

Final Rating: 8

Somehow the music of the song does not appeal to me at all...
SO I guess I am biased since I did not like the track...
But alkaji has done a fabulous job..
the antara is actually really good.. the feel of the song and expressions are maintained..
But I guess I found the other 2 better so would rate this at 7

Look whose Speaking!😕
I wanted to ask you the same question when you gave Teriore a 7! "What Do You Want?"
And whether a singer is a audience favourite or not that doesnt matter ,that doesnt add advantage, shreya got a very good response for Teriore from audience but the judges.................... Anyways I dont want to start that topic again.😭
I shall comeback to alkaji, this is not Alkaji's best my dear, actually this song from rajahindustani doesnt appeal much to the audience, infact this is nothing compared to alkaji's "Tip tip barsa paani, Taal se taal mila, Bole choodiyan, & so many other.
Both shreya & alka have been my favourite, & I have done many song selections for them. I too want to see Alkaji in the finals, infact I am quite surprised to see that Alka who ruled the music industry & was almost everyones favourite in 90's & initial years of 2000 hasnt even once topped the competition, thats the saddest part of this competition. 😔

What is with Nadeem-Shravan and the such overbearing congo-dholak thekas. If they wanted to achieve the realism of a lound clanky wedding band, then they achieved their aim. 🤢

Pros: good hold on notes, including high notes and harkats; best expression in tie-breaker round; nice aalaaps; was the most 'dynamic' rendition of the tie breaker round.

Cons: could have reduced the gamak or kampan in her voice during aalaaps - Sadhana was better in this respect.

8/10
