I have never seen ITV shows going this way. Imlie is the first one to wrap up before any show is ready. Now this reminds me of another Gul Khan show which wrapped up suddenly due to lead actor quitting and was replaced by another show which was supposed to take a late night slot. At that time an insider from the channel said that generally these shows are aired to fill the gap before a new show comes and takes the slot. I think SP is planning something similar to that. They know either PS or TMD won't survive for many days.
I agree Tanu - There is no way PS or TMD will be able to survive the tough competition at 8:30PM and it is stupidity to even have the slot empty for 2 weeks. I get that. Maybe the 8:30PM slot will again go to Gul only. The point is - why did they end Imlie when they have nothing to replace it with.
Ankit ka show was never a 8:30PM slot ka show. They could have given Ankit ka show the 7:30PM slot earlier also and could have moved PS to 6PM slot and run it till they can think of something different. Now they are going to lose the 8:30PM slot to any of the competitor and 2 weeks is more than enough for the different channels to start a new track and hook their audience with that. Bhagya Laxmi, Dori and Tarak - all the shows had 1.3 trp this week - same as Imlie but Imlie was slot leader obviously due to lower telecast time. Is SP stupid to not know that PS will not be able to hook the audience when the slot runs for 2 weeks empty?
Ghum their so called favorite show has fallen to 4th place this week. So longer episodes will obviously be a strain on the actors and the PH and also with the way Ghum ka story is going it is not going to help them gain any extra trps. Over all Ghum bhi ghirega and Udne will also suffer. All because SP decided to end Imlie even without a replacement show ready to take its place.
