At that time Indian viewers were pretty much okay with the concept of polygamy. From Mihir to Anurag to our dear Archie.. hero marrying again for the sake of plot was okay with them.

Nowadays ,polygamy is excessively hated in all shows. So it's trend is fading off.

As for EMA , it is a treacherous slope and based on how negatively viewers reacted to a show that pretty much declared itself as one that is based on EMA as it's main theme , I'd say it's completely unacceptable even when shown between leads.

Baha was not just called home breaker , she was regularly and generally called names that I can't write here. From the fan favorite character to the most hated character of Bengali tv history, all after she started reciprocating towards Archie and betrayed Moon's trust and wrecked her marriage.

The lead actress Ronita was bashed so severely and for such a long time, that she left the show mid way and never got any note worthy work after that , even though she was extremely talented and very very pretty. She was exceptional in her fine nuanced performance as Baha.

She paid for the downfall of Baha's character with her own career.

I am again saying it there is no ema gonna happen between imli and aditya. Since they are already married. But yeah, with one wife around, aditya is openly doing ema with malini. i don't agree with it. 😵 I hope he back off from the marriage. Aditya also said in today's episode that he is having intuition that something bad gonna happen today. So, it might be indicating that marriage won't happen. He is gonna lose malini. Also, I don't think gul will take risk with such a controversial script, so she will improvise. Especially, when everybody knows what happened to silsila show. 🤓

Main point is who is doing ema with whom. Is he cheating Malini with his first wife or Imlie with his second wife?

First of all Moon is gonna fund her education, her dream. So morally it's brutal to be with jerkaditya and cheat on her benefactor. Second if they so wanna be together they should come clean to moon and decide cordially. First divorce , then do whatever the heck they want. I only wish adilie to happen but not like how it happened in ishti kutum. And Mohi way is unacceptable because there is already a show for that, why would we want to see the same story all over again? Jeez........

But why blame just Baha/Imlie here and label her as home-breaker? Both Archie/Adi and Baha/Imlie should be equally blamed for this.

Imagine a gender swap where Adi's character is a female and Imlie and Malini's characters are male. I am pretty sure in that case too just the female charcater would be blamed for being characterless etc.

I don't think Gul would do anything that would put the title character in bad light

Oh no , maybe I didn't make myself clear , Archie's character was severely bashed too. And called unspeakable names.

But it didn't affect lead actor's career , he gave another block buster right after Ishti Kutum - Kusum Dola , which is now being remade as Ghum hai kisi ke pyar mein.

It's just that in our society women are held at a higher moral standard than men, utter hypocrisy I know but it's true .

Also , tbh, it was Baha who was 99 % responsible for the scenario. When Archie fell for her, he tried to come clean and get annulment from Moon at every turn and Baha stopped him every time . She should've either rejected him completely and finally and asked for a divorce for herself if saving Moon's home was so important for her or if reciprocate , should stand by his side and let him get the divorce.

No body blamed them for falling in love. It is the crux of the story , viewers were waiting for it but instead of clean love story with Divorce and remarriage they went for the EMA way , for the sake of drama and it blew on their faces.

Kash Aditya mein thoda sa bhi himmat hota.. what he's doing is utterly immoral and unjust with both the women. He didn't think for once what'll happen with Imlie before sending her back to her village.

After staying with her husband for a few months , no one will remarry her and after such a fiasco, it would not be possible for her to go back to her normal routine of education that she was following pre marriage as well.

So basically for his own selfishness, he didn't think that a bright scholar student who got scholarship and distinction in 4 subjects from a rinky dink village and who wanted to be an officer , her life got completely destroyed because she took a step to save him. Couldn't he have sponsored her education by sending her to a hostel ?? Or simply let her stay at his house till her home education is sufficient for her to move out to college.

He doesn't care and I just hope kismat ka mar jab use padega tab use ye din aur ye galtiyan yaad aye

@bold - this is what irks me the most about Aditya. Ek taraf he admits that she is bright and intelligent and dusri taraf when he can help her, he is just showing her his back. Why doesn't he understand ki Imlie saved his LIFE by sacrificing things that were her LIFE! Ise bada sacrifice kuch nahi ho sakta.

Aaj agar banda saans le raha hai to sirf Imlie ke sacrifice k kaaran. He owes his every breath to Imlie now
