Thank you! That was a beautiful. This was the Maan we knew in the show. Feelings had developed, it took a while but he then realised he was the one that wanted to make her smile.

Chapter 5: Longing and Realizations
As Maan strode into the convention hall, an unexpected thrum of nerves twisted in his chest. This wasn’t his first major event—he’d attended countless parties, mingled with the powerful, sealed deals under the gleam of chandeliers. Yet, something about tonight felt different. He blamed it on being away for the last few weeks, handling an emergency at a construction site, but a small, nagging thought told him otherwise. Geet. He hadn’t seen her since he’d left. She’d thrown herself into preparations for tonight, determined to make the evening unforgettable. This was her first major project at Khurana Constructions, and he knew it mattered to her deeply. She’d spent countless late nights going over every detail. For some reason, he found himself a little… nervous for her. As he took in the hall, a feeling of pride washed over him. Every detail was flawless, echoing the sophisticated theme she’d designed. He noticed his staff standing straighter, every one of them clearly taken by Geet Madam’s work. They seemed captivated, impressed, and he realized he wanted to see her, too.
Almost as if he’d summoned her, there she was—walking down the staircase, wrapped in six yards of shimmering silver. Maan felt the breath catch in his throat. Her sari was elegant yet understated, fitting perfectly with the chic but grounded aesthetic of the event. But as he noticed the eyes of other men on her, a strange protectiveness flared within him. It was absurd, really. She was his employee, his… responsibility. Yet he had this irrational urge to whisk her away from all those gazes.
As Geet made her way down, she felt the weight of eyes on her, and her cheeks warmed with self-consciousness. But pride filled her heart, seeing how everything had turned out. She’d poured so many sleepless nights into this event, so much that her bhabhi had started to worry. Still, this night was her dream realized. And in the sea of unfamiliar faces, her gaze landed on one—Maan. Her heart skipped a beat. He was watching her, his expression unreadable, yet his eyes… intense. She’d met countless men in her life, some as handsome and many as wealthy. But none of them held the same allure. She respected him not for his wealth or success but for the passion that drove him. A man who had achieved so much but still pushed himself, still strove for excellence. That quiet dedication drew her to him, even though she knew she shouldn’t let herself get attached. Their eyes locked, and for a fleeting moment, she wondered if he felt the same pull.
But the trance was broken as someone stumbled into him—Sasha. “Careful, Sasha,” he muttered, frustration clouding his gaze. Sasha reddened and quickly moved away, having clearly hoped he’d notice her instead of Geet. She’d been throwing roadblocks in Geet’s path ever since the project started, hoping to sabotage her. But Geet had handled everything with grace and determination. Even now, she hadn’t missed a beat.
As the evening progressed, Maan watched as Geet flitted from guest to guest, handling everything flawlessly, exuding a quiet authority. She was a natural, he thought, silently impressed. Just then, he noticed a man slide up beside her, whispering something in her ear. Geet jumped slightly, then playfully slapped the man’s shoulder. “Jai! Stop it,” she scolded, a bright smile lighting up her face. “Is that any way to greet your client?” Jai replied, a mischievous gleam in his eyes. “Besides, I’ve got someone with me I think you’ll want to see.” Geet turned, and her face lit up as she saw her oldest brother, Brij. “Bhai!” she exclaimed, pulling him into a tight hug. Brij, the silent protector, returned her embrace with a rare, proud smile. Maan had never seen Brij at an event like this before, and he felt a twinge of surprise. Geet, meanwhile, was practically glowing with happiness as she guided her brother through the event, showing off the results of her hard work.
Watching her share that bond with him stirred something in Maan. His eyes narrowed slightly as he saw her laughing with Jai and Brij. Something about their closeness felt… unsettling. He scolded himself inwardly for feeling possessive. Geet was her own person, free to be with whomever she wanted. As the night wore on, Brij said his goodbyes, mentioning that his wife wasn’t feeling well, and Geet’s face fell with concern. “Why didn’t you tell me earlier, Bhai?” she asked, worry etched on her face. Brij waved her concern away but hugged her once more before he left, leaving her a bit misty-eyed.
“Hey, no tears tonight,” Jai said, squeezing her shoulder reassuringly. “Everyone’s proud of you, Ladli.”
Maan, who’d been approaching, stopped short. The gesture seemed too intimate. He clenched his jaw, Sasha’s earlier mocking words echoing in his mind. Yet before he could process the frustration building up, he heard Jai murmur, “I’m proud of you.”
“Am I interrupting something?” Maan’s voice cut through the moment, and both Geet and Jai turned in surprise. For a brief second, he thought he saw a glimmer of emotion in her eyes before she quickly looked away. His eyes landed accusingly on Jai, who, sensing the tension, took a step back. Geet frowned, her brow creased slightly as if she were figuring him out. Did… did he seem jealous? The thought both surprised and delighted her, an unexpected thrill warming her cheeks. Could it be that Maan Singh Khurana actually cared? He cleared his throat, breaking the silence. “The event… it’s turned out well. Good job, Geet,” he said, his voice softer than he intended. A blush crept onto her cheeks. “Thank you, sir. But it was a team effort.” Jai, who’d been watching the exchange, couldn’t hold back his laughter. “Geet Handa, at a loss for words? I don’t think I’ve ever seen this!” Maan smirked, seeing Geet’s bashful expression. Maybe she wasn’t as indifferent as she pretended to be. Perhaps, just maybe, there was a chance.
