Here people wear white and cream sarees, salwars for most festivities but it has light shaded golden or black border..It's nice your husband is fine with most colors so sweet 🤗🥰

People are still superstitious with white and black colors..Black colored dresses are found as unlucky when worn during auspicious times which makes no sense though many people might have reasons for their belief..still all colors are fine and beautiful!
