Pakistan not pick specialist spinner was the prime reason they loose than first innings declaration

Last year in june, eng declared vs Aus & Aus won test by 2 wickets, probably few other instances in test cricket when team declares first innings & loose. ( ind declared 437/8 vs SL but draw the test despite Lankan hits 952/6 still world record by runs in single test innings.)

(Bangladesh in Nz in test 595/8 declared but lost test on day 5 )

Pakistan 448/6 declared (Rizwan 171*) &🐔 146 all out🐔 ( rizwan 51, babar 22, Shafique 37)

Bangladesh 565 all out & 30/0

(M. Rahim 191)

Bangladesh won by 10 wickets with 45.4 ovs spares on day 5. BD 1/0

congratulation! ❤️🌹🌿

Atleast they should win at home next match because every team win at home.

Eng have tendancy to loose 1st match of new series but they won yesterday at home

Stats: Bangladesh's historic first and a defeat after declarationRoshan GedeSun, Aug 25, 2024 • 6:10 PM

after-13-tests-bangladesh-finally-have-a-win-over-pakistan-in-their-14th-attemptAfter 13 Tests, Bangladesh finally have a win over Pakistan in their 14th attempt ©AFP

1- This was Bangladesh's first win against Pakistan in 14 Tests. They had lost 12 head-to-head contests - six by an innings margin - and drew one before this match. India and South Africa are now the only opponents they are yet to beat in the longest format.

10 wickets - This is the highest victory margin for Bangladesh in Tests in terms of wickets remaining. Overall, this was their sixth win while chasing, the previous biggest margin being 8 wickets against New Zealand at Mount Maunganui in 2022.

1 - This was Pakistan's first 10-wicket defeat in home Tests (including matches in the UAE). They had lost by nine wickets to Sri Lanka in Dubai in 2014, which was their previous biggest defeat margin in terms of wickets remaining.

4- This was just the fourth instance of Pakistan losing a Test match in which they declared an innings, the first at home in 63 years. It was also the first instance of Bangladesh winning a Test in which their opponent declared an innings.

3- Of the 26 instances of teams losing a Test after declaring in their first innings, only three have featured declarations with the batting side losing six wickets or fewer. The first was West Indies' 10-wicket win against India at Kingston in 1976, when the visitors had declared at 306/6d in their first innings with Anshuman Gaekwad and Brijesh Patel being retired hurt. India's second innings was recorded as completed (97 all-out) with five players from the XI being absent hurt.

The second was Australia's epic six-wicket win over England at the Adelaide Oval in 2006/07, courtesy Shane Warne and Michael Hussey's brilliance on the final day. England had declared their first innings at 551/6d.

448/6d is the second highest innings total in a losing cause for Pakistan in home Tests, after 579 all-out against England at the same venue in 2022. It is also the highest score conceded by Bangladesh in a winning cause, well clear of the 374 scored by Zimbabwe in Chattogram in 2014.

9 - Pakistan have now gone without a win in nine straight home Tests (five defeats and four draws), their second longest such streak after 11 (10 draws and a defeat) between February 1969 and March 1975. The 95-run win against South Africa at the same venue in February 2021 was their last Test victory at home.

222 by Mohammad Rizwan (171* & 51) is the highest aggregate for a Pakistan wicketkeeper in a Test match, surpassing 210 by Taslim Arif against Australia in Faisalabad in 1980.

Pakistan wicketkeepers with highest match aggregates in Tests

(222)-171* & 51-Mohammad Rizwan-vs Bangladesh at Rawalpindi, 2024🌿

-(210)* & DNB-Taslim Arif vs Australia at Faisalabad, 1980

(209)- & 0-Imtiaz Ahmed vs New Zealand at Lahore, 1955

(197)-150 & 47*Rashid Latif vs West Indies at Sharjah, 2002

(196)-78 & 118Sarfaraz Ahmed vs New Zealand at Karachi, 2023

(191) by Mushfiqur Rahim is the second highest score by a Bangladesh batter against Pakistan in Tests, after Tamim Iqbal's 206 at Khulna in 2015. He is the third Bangladesh batter with a Test hundred in Pakistan, after Javed Omar (119) and Habibul Bashar (108) in Peshawar and Karachi respectively in 2003. Mushfiqur now has four of the top-six highest individual score for Bangladesh in Tests, headed by his 219* against Zimbabwe in Mirpur in 2018.

11 Test hundreds for Mushfiqur is the second most for Bangladesh in the format, surpassing Tamim Iqbal's 10. Mominul Haque leads the way with 12 Test tons. Mushfiqur is 133 away from becoming the first Bangladesh batter to complete 6,000 Test runs, and with 15159 runs across formats currently, he needs another 34 to go past Tamim (15192) as the leading run-scorer for his country in international cricket.

7 Player of the Match awards for Mushfiqur in Tests is now the most for Bangladesh in the format, one better than Shakib Al Hasan's six.
