Don’t think they were trying to actively do that during this scene. Anthony was just desperate, he was clutching at any straw to delay saying his vows to Ed and this ‘allowed’ him to share that one private moment with Kate before she was lost to him forever. Kate, of course, did not mean to drop that bangle & was horrified when she did but I think deep down she too was helpless at th force of what she felt atm when she was about to lose Anthony forever. They were insane for doing this in front of the entire convention though! It’s amazing that only Ed saw it! Daph already knew & Violet and LD had their suspicions.
