I have not read all the comments here as I have not been following IF regularly. I do see some comments possibly about the choice of work Aru has chosen for the time being.

I am sure she will grab good opportunities as they come her way and make time for them.

I really liked the song and the video of Manjoor Dil.
Here in US it is very common for singers to feature in their own MV infact that’s the norm. I am glad to see these young singers trying their hand at acting in the MV. I think it made the MV more popular and the MV was aesthetically shot.
they all seem to share a comfort level and whatever Aru and PDs personal equation is, it doesn’t matter. The hype will give some viewers but it is the quality of the work that will sustain.

They are comfortable with enacting the song and we as viewers and fans of them together or individually, should appreciate their work. Aru clearly said that her family was looking forward to it and her brother liked it and so did her parents. PD even mentioned going on a vacation and included her bro as well as Ashish and his bro in the group.

If they don’t have issues, we shouldn’t either. Once in the public eye it is difficult to stay away from people who are judgmental and think they should behave a certain way.
They all have a long way to go and this is just the first step. More opportunities will unfold in the future and all the best to them for their careers individually and to all the duets they will sing. The next Ashish-PD song is a duet by Ashish and Sayli followed by a song by Nihal, I think. So they will take turns.

Like Ashish said, Arunita’s voice is a dream for music directors and she will get opportunities based on her talent.
Everything doesn’t happen overnight. It will take time.

I think the point is that a lot of her fans, including myself, feel that Arunita is capable of establishing an independent musical career, and would like to see her do so.
Everything else is a distraction that she does not significantly benefit from other than establishing her as a romantic duet singer.
If romance is to dictate her career moves, that is fine from her personal angle. Once she states that she is romantically involved all these debates will stop. We, as fans, will make our choice on how we deal with that.

At this time it is just the cheap press and people who fuel this romantic angle for their own benefit who are making statements about teh relationship.

I think we are adding fuel to fire by giving such statements/interviews importance.

That is the whole point.

My personal view is that she will be exploited in the Octopus video series because of circumstances. I cannot see her getting out of it. We will have to live with it I guess because she could not have refused the initial offer when it came her way. But ultimately Octopus will suffer and that can be the end to this story.

Sunrise Radio's (UK) RJ Sonia Dutta had conducted a radio interview of the Idols after they arrived.
She describes them as "Super CUTE" 😃

Anyway, her post in Twitter drew this comment which was cute and was retweeted by Sonia:

I understand your POV.
The music industry has changed a lot over the years and it seems like good singers and music composers come and go very quickly. Not all can make a mark in the industry.
Its been a while since I have genuinely liked a female voice. Probably after Shreya’s, it is Arunita’s voice that has left an impact. She has been noticed by Bwood and will get her due in the industry. She has a long way to go.

she is probably bound by Sony contract in the first year after idol. I think the Octopus video will help her gain more confidence in dealing with camera as well as media in interviews. I can already see how well she is handling the media and is a lot more comfortable. Music videos and shows are the money making thing these days especially since not many movies or Bwood songs have released. One has to adapt to the times. Bwood offers will come eventually. She already got a few offers during the show. Chances are she may have already sung some but will not reveal until time is right.

I think signing Octopus contract is a good step for her to keep in the public eye as well as gain more confidence. They seem to treat her well and are understanding.

There will always be shippers and media and YouTube channels that will try to gain viewers by talking about them. Arunita and PD both really don’t seem to care. They know their equation and seem mature enough to handle the attention and dissuade the probing questions.

I understand, what you are saying. For me, her personal life is hers, she decides what she wants. But as a fan of her singing, professionally I just want her to be known as Arunita Kanjilal, the singer, and not in any other way (somebody's friend, somebody's singing partner or that she should sing duets and only with one particular person) - that's it. For me 'personally' she is the best singer that I have heard in the current lot - and would really love it if she is treated as such (again - just my opinion).
