Alia ended Deepika with just one Gangubai was the chorus.

I had asked then ,Did Alia end Deepika or did she end SLB?..and Dharma..and her father's partnership with Vishesh films.

Why you think Alia ended slb or Dharma or Vishesh after Gangubai? Wasn't the movie hit so why slb will get affected? And others what the connection with the said movie?

It isn't only the "overexposure" one may perceive but mainly a kind of behaviour that I feel being fake/image-driven/pr-driven. To me, there is a perceptible difference between the Alia before and the Alia after Raazi... The only movie I then liked her in - since then - was Darlings as she acted as one of a very good ensemble cast.

Gangubai made 55cr less than its budget in India. SLB's other films recovered their theatrical business in India. The producer Pen, left SLB. Inshah Allah and Baiju Basra too didn't get producers.Love and War is a "self financed" film.

Just look at the cast of the flop Heera Mandi? Kriti got Kajol to act in a small role in her film. SLB couldn't get a single top actress for his magnum opus. Every top actress, except a few like Aish,Katrina..who are not doing many films, are doing OTT work.He had to bring some actors out of retirement for his male leads!

Agree to you that the 'success' of Gangubai had been made a success by other people than the audience. Nevertheless, one should take in consideration that it had been the first Alia-centred movie getting very good critics (the male actors not really making a lasting impact, imo).

I won't deny that it had been an interesting movie and it definitely showcased Alia...I simply couldn't 'connect' to her in that character.

Personally, in my feeling, I wished Kangana for that role.

Also budget to remuneration issues can sometimes become a huge problem.

I'm going to be so hated for this but her role in Heart of Stone was probably her career best. Raazi was good but then she did "mujhe ghar jaana hai" and woh dekh kar mujhe bhi ghar jaana tha. smiley37

Locking down now that round is basically over in a few hours.
