I don’t think Kartik plays a major role in the opening number. You could swap him out with Varun or another actor, and it wouldn’t make much of a difference. The film itself is part of a big franchise known for its music (mostly remixes in this one) and side characters, especially Manjulika, of course. Kartik will benefit from it, as he should, but let’s not give him more credit than he deserves.
Jo bhi hai....but this is howlarious...
BB3 hype started after vidya-madhuri song release and everyone here is crediting kartik like anybody cared for him in the teaser
Banger song promo...it really worked in their favour.
The success of this movie (or any she’s done in recent years) wouldn’t really affect her much. She’s pretty much been forgettable in all of them. Normally, before a release, you’d expect fans to be excited and critics to be a bit anxious. But here, neither fans nor haters seem to care about how her movies perform because they don’t rely on her. A lovely flowerpot figure.

This was in response to your reply, Nishita. Not sure why I can’t seem to quote/reply you.

That’s because SA has more screens to spread out their audience occupancy per theater.I think there’s no information out yet about footfalls. And then ticket pricing also affects things.
Well, with 66% occupancy and number of screens at hand , we can guesstimate that BB3 had about 45 lakh tickets available on the first day out of which it sold about 30 lakh tickets which gives us a collection of about 38 crore which is almost the box office collection of BB3 on day 1, so our calculations might be almost correct.
With 55% occupancy and number of screens at hand, we can say that SA had about 53 lakh tickets available on first day out of which it sold about 29 lakh tickets which gives os a BO collection of about 37.5 crore.
So according to rough guesstimate BB3 had less tickets avaialble than Singam Again yet it sold more tickets than Singham Again.
Do remember these are rough guesstimates and might not be very accuarate but I think they might not be far from correct numbers barring the BO collection because the ticket price varies within one theatre itself, that is why you see SA have lesser BO collection than BB3 in these calculations but I don't think there might be much difference terms of footfalls we have calculated here.

Yay the song did a good job in creating hype for the film also the promotions done by the cast.I will say this being part of a popular franchise along with Madhuri,Vidya being part of the movie gave the movie hype.It is actually not correct to give sole credit to this movie opening to Kartik only
Brace yourself for his PR because I’m already seeing tweets like “Kartik Aryan’s BB3”, or tweets that only mention him, or tweets that call him a superstar.

Are all the tickets the same price for both movies? I know single screens are a lot cheaper in general than multiplexes. But with multiplexes did each chain charge the same for both movies?
Although this won’t change the number of tickets sold and money earned, corporate booking also matters in the long run. That’s why footfalls are a better indicator of which one really had a better authentic opening.
