For some reason, I'm following him on Twitter so I did see this post as well. Honestly, I feel so bad for Aishwarya that she's stuck with a husband who can only release low-budget films like this. He has no major films anymore unless SRK bails him out with King.

I was reading the Twitter comments on his post and so many of them are reminding him about his better half and how he can't compare to her and should be ashamed.

I also remember reading that he thought Manmarziyaan would be his comeback film. He had film offers lined up afterwards but when Manmarziyaan flopped, he lost all those films. The funny thing is that Manmarziyaan is better received now, but that's purely due to Taapsee and Vicky. I don't hear anyone talk about Abhishek in it except to trash him as being the worst part. I agree that out of the trio of actors, he's the weakest link. He's trying to do the Ajay Devgan part in HDDCS but he's not convincing the way Ajay was. And Taapsee and Vicky utterly transform themselves which is something Abhishek simply cannot do. The fact that he's a veteran actor and was starring in a film with two non-commercial neophyte actors but was still outacted by them says so much.

Umm he is playing a middle-aged single dad with a health diagnosis. What else should his look have been?

Jesus, dude has done stellar work once he gave up on the yrf hero banunga path. He was great in Manmarziyan too. In Manmarziyan, he was playing an NRI-return urban dude, what sort of transformation should he have gone through when the role fits his own self lol. Vicky and Taapsee were playing roles which required them to not be themselves in style and mannerisms (Vicky way more than Taapsee but still).

Why should one feel bad for Aish for Abhi's flops to begin with? Also, as if she weren't part of many of his flop films even before they started dating lol.

How is she "stuck" with a super rich dude who provides her with extended political connections when she can very well end the marriage if she isn't happy. If he has been abusive to her then that's another matter altogether. His flops have little to do with it.

Just because Aish is a pop icon in a way Abhi cannot be doesn't mean she is a stellar actor or hasn't had utter flops herself lol.

You are asserting a rumour to be a fact. There is no proof of such an alleged affair. Even so, Nimrat owed Aish no loyalty. She did not marry her or birth a child with her. Abhishek did. He did and still does owe fidelty to Aish. It is his culpability if he cheated on Aish at all.

Further, the snide tone wherein you are trying to undermine Nimrat's looks in comparision to Aish (by dragging Deepika in the conversation) is misogynistic to all of them. If someone finds Nimrat to be more attractive than Deepika/Aish or vice versa, that is fine. It is human. None of the three are reduced to their looks, and their value doesn't lie in who finds whom prettier. That is so objectifying.

My post was for someone else. That person have understood it.

Yes they are not reduced to their looks. But looks are a huge part of glamour industry. If I personally think Aish is way prettier than Nimrat then i am not wrong either by your logic.

You might have missed the comments that said, Abhishek is right for cheating on Aishwarya because Aish has stopped taking care of her looks and Nimrat is a catch. Those are plain misogynistic IMO. At this point all three of them are getting bashed, Aishwarya a bit more.

Yes you can find Aish the most beautiful woman in the world but you dragging down Nimrat for her looks and body is still not cool lol. I get that looks are a big part of the profession BUT beauty standards are still socially constructed and personally subjective. And the industry still understands that which is why unconventional and androgynous faces dominate the modelling scene. Which is why Tilda has a better career than Aish.

And if you think being snide about actors' looks is okay because they are a part of "glamour industry" then you'd be perfectly fine when people fat-shame Aish because she allegedly no longer caters to the male gaze?

I do not so. I don't find both their objectification cool just because they are actors, so I find pitting their looks against each other crass. They are both fine and are so much more than how many people find whom hotter.
