I highly doubt they would have married coz Aishwarya’s parents had a problem coz he was Muslim. The issues started between them coz they wanted to marry on November 18,1999 but ash’s parents were dead against the wedding. So Ash backed out last minute. Sajid Nadiadwala and Salman were supposed to have a joint wedding at that time.

Thereby, the issues started. Salman and Ash were both very passionate people and both of them tried to get one another jealous. Clearly a very angsty relationship which imploded. Abuse I don’t know the truth, ash even in her statement said that he was hurting himself. So I think it was self harm more than anything else.

Salman wouldn’t have remained superstar and super successful if this panauti married him. Thank god, this woman is far away from Salman. Her being with him for a few years has caused enough damage to him. Everyone she’s with, suffers only.

Yes the Srk and Gauri story is true. But Ash’s parents were the proper South Indian Hindu family and they were not at all fine with the fact that Salman was a Muslim. So they never accepted their relationship from the beginning which started causing problems for them after about 1 and half years together. Even for their son Aditya Rai they got him arranged marriage to a Tulu girl, Shrima Rai. I read that Ash doesn’t get along with her brother and sister in law since a few years. She is completely cut off from her brothers family and doesn’t even attend her nephews birthdays anymore. That’s sad coz she has only 1 sibling. Anyways Ash seems close only to her mum and her daughter now.

In ash’s statement she says Salman got physical but left no marks on her(which means he tried to hold her roughly more than abuse) and that he was self harming himself.

Yes, Gauri and SRK did that although Gauri was sure that it would amount to nothing. Gauri also supported SRK in his emotional dilemma when he didn't want (but for financial and professional reasons had to) replace Aish in Chalte Chalte. Aziz (the director and 3rd part of DreamzUnlimited) also was very much annoyed by the delays and disturbances and wanted Aish to get replaced. Juhi wasn't much involved in the production work (she was happy with the decision to make an almost surely successful romantic movie and then dissolve the common venture).

Actually, everyone who thinks that SRK didn't handle the things in the right way, has no idea about the circumstances... and as for the future movies with SRK where Aish (allegedly) was an option as heroine they should know that no director/producer loving SRK (like Yashji and Farah did) or knowing how awkward SRK would feel to work with Aish as his leading lady relatively shortly after CC would cast an actress whose personal life influenced her professional one in a negative (and costly) way. Salman's behaviour during Devdas shootings had been such a red flag that either Aish should have left the relationship then or SRK shouldn't have acted on his promise to Aish to cast her in CC/work with her in a love story whith a positive ending.

Although it made for vile gossip, it was also good that Salman and SRK took a break from their friendship, then.
