Why is Alia mocked for just displaying human emotions? Won’t we feel bad on losing out on something we desperately wanted? That movie was a big thing for her. SLB film..that too with Salman. Call it tantrum or whatever..this happens. More so with someone who has not tasted failure ever. She must’ve grown with the experience. Even the best of sports people have been through it. Locked themselves up after a big loss and refused to meet anyone.

Reeks of a certain level of emotional manipulation …srk, vidya, karthik all probably cried in their respective rooms for all we know …but mohanlal never gave vidya a movie quickly thereafter to pacify her

SLB is bowing down to nepos because he himself wanted his talentless niece Sharmin to make it big and he thought these nepo gangs would help him

We need to stop acting like he’s some kind of saint. His films are overrated as hell!

Agreed to the first paragraph (skipped it here)...for the topic, this is the key...she may not have learned to deal with t h i s kind of setback without resorting to - apparently - emotionally blackmailing the people relative to the/a film project with Bhansali. Having this "privilege" and - in addition - succeeding with that behaviour will make her - quite probably - continue to resort to that whenever a "setback" occurs.

Yes slb is no kid to be manipulated by people …and alia is talented

There is no shortage of talented hardworking people …

point being, none of them are some special cookie for their professional colleagues to care abt them “being upset”..they don’t seem to have their directors recollect such stories

….yet somehow, that becomes a talking point when it comes to alia getting films …most of the conversation around her getting films centres around crying, lobbying, begging to work with someone. …it’s not some one off incident for ppl not see a regular pattern that seems to be happening in her case ..

Point is she knows the position she’s in, and the impact of said hissy fits and begging …it won’t get her a film…it gets her attention from them tho…attention that an outsider who throws the same hissy fit won’t get …heck an outsider will be written off if he behaved that way

Slb has shelved films with vidya and Rajeev khandelwal too (Chenab Gandhi)…all their “talent” didn’t land them an immediate collaboration or even anything in the near future with him …

Everyone will get upset as that's being human. But handling setbacks and failures is also life skills. At school toppers fight for those one, two or even half marks. They get very upset losing those marks. Understand that they have put the efforts but going into depression for days doesn't help. Have seen parents worried about it. It starts from childhood otherwise adulthood becomes tough handing those emotions. Kids need to learn from childhood itself to handle emotions. EQ is more important in life to have peaceful mind.

I watched the video..and from what I gathered..

SLB didn’t give her Gangubai as a compensation for Insha..he talks at length how Alia was apprehensive but hiw and why he was sure about casting her. So can’t really say she emotionally blackmailed him for movie.
See I have no love lost for any actors or directors. They all have their pros n cons..coz they r humans. And they have all humanly traits like jealousy, greed, ambition, drive and a will to succeed inspite of all drawbacks. Just being actors doesnt warranty a saintly behaviour from them. But they r judged too harshly. Alia is dumb, DP is inarticulate and SLB is obnoxious n obsessive..but all of them have that shrewdness and will power that helped them to succeed. its not like Alia is going to quit showbiz if we keep harping on n on about her privilege. I liked Kartik’s take on nepotism on TKSS. Whatever success he got is coz he has a sensible head on his shoulders
