Just watched the movie and I enjoyed it. I've seen several American movies where the entire film takes place on a computer screen and you're only seeing the actors through phone/laptop cameras. Searching being the most high-profile Hollywood film I can think of like this. I think this is the first Indian movie to go that route.
Ananya is good in this movie. Most of her performance is entirely from the face up and I think she makes for a believable character as a young social media influencer.
Story was pretty freaky especially since I'm 99% sure it's accurate for all the big corporations and social media today. The AI character was so freaky with his weird head movements and grin forever plastered on his face. He gave me the creeps especially how he would rewrite Ananya's life without her knowing.
Didn't feel bad for the boyfriend. He was a cheater so I couldn't feel for what happened to him as he deserved it. Had he kept it in his pants, Ananya would not have dumped him and he'd probably be alive with her support and help. So he has only himself to blame for his death.
Ending was quite bleak. I didn't expect that but it's quite powerful, the way everything she didn't want in her life is what ends up happening anyway. She's trapped in the cycle and she voluntarily agrees to go through it just to escape her boredom and monotony. Very tragic overall.
Definitely recommend watching at least once.
