Aiswarya was undoubtedly beautiful but that's where it ends. She just looked beautiful nothing beyond that sort of beautiful plastic doll. Whereas Madhuri is beautiful may be not to the level of Aishwarya but her face has warmth and expressions. She comes across as humane which is more appealing.
I agree and I remember also SRK saying after having worked for the first time with Madhuri (Anjaam) that she is his senior and how much he appreciated what she taught him (Madhuri had a stronger role than SRK, btw.)
manisha is pretty in pictures but she couldn't dance, and wasn't graceful
ash and madhuri are very graceful, both very pretty, madhuri just has the prettiest smile and laugh.
Dance is a completely different matter. Although I would argue this post was about beauty and not dance. I disagree she looked better in video and in motion than she does in stills. I disagree one has to know how to dance to be graceful. It was the angelic grace she carried herself with here in this song that the audience could not stop raving about her beauty. She carries herself with grace, she is playful yet shy, and she brings a whole other level of innocence into the character. I am glad Madhuri could not make time for this film as her image in "humko aajkal hai intezaar" was totally based off of sex appeal. She could not have brought the innocence and simplicity into the character that Manisha did. Manisha was the far better actress then Madhuri. I hope no one argues that she did get more critical acclaim then Madhuri. Madhuri was more of a commercial success.
Let's put the faces side by side. Madhuri is your conventional pretty girl. But there is a lot more uniqueness in Manisha's beauty. IMO! These are just her own contemporaries. I will not even start the comparison with Aish. A very famous psychologist has said a supremely beautiful woman is bound to have a lot of fans but an equal number of haters. Such is the case with Aish. So I won't even go there.

honestly all 90s heroines were diff from each other
what madhuri could no none else could
what monisha koirala or juhi could do others could not
each heroine had unique personality and strengths
Karishma was prettiest in 90s after Raja Hindustani. She looked ethereal in that movie.
Madhuri always looked like an aunty & supremely overrated just like Ashwarya.
